WCR: All Ps in place. Shasta is doing ok today. Her appy has been ok. Got some snuggles at bedtime, but not at btb time. She did drape herself across my lap just a while ago, but now she's draped across the ottoman. Otherwise, not much tell. I do, however, have a question... she's had an excessive number of high yellows and pinks for her pre-shot numbers. Dosing advice? Feeding advice? I know the idea is to try to get a "shallow" curve without steep dives, so I'm assuming I need to increase her insulin and then probably feed more low/mid carb?! Advice, please?!

Shasta had a nice slide into blue today. I don't have any dose advice. I'm trying to figure out Furball's dose too.

Good question, Deborah. Your strategy sounds like a good one but I would like to see what Marje or Sienne suggest. Have a great evening!

Where to begin...Shasta is in the green right now, always worries me when I start talking about increasing her dose and then she pulls this behavior! :roll: Still taking advice!?!

OT news of the day: Mid-afternoon, as I was about to get dressed and run a few errands before the chiro, a car pulls up in my driveway. I figured it was just a car that missed its real destination, but no...the driver gets out and walks to my door (2 other people stayed in the car...I think both were guys). DAMN! My blinds were wide open, so it's not like I could just pretend like I wasn't home. I am the 1% every other time
Anyways, I went against my better judgement and opened the door (a smidge) and asked what he needed. He gave me "the pitch"...he and his friends were opening a store near Publix; they're selling home air filtration systems and they were just out doing a little free publicity/advertising and would I be interested?! He had 2 "gifts" for people that said yes...an American Flag or a doormat that said something about being a retiree.
Now, there are so many things that if I could have rewound time by about 5 minutes, I would have been sooooooo prepared for this load of sh*t, but alas...I was unprepared. My cell phone was across the room; my metal baseball bat was in my bedroom; I was still in my pjs. Back to the story...He asked if I would be interested in allowing him to demonstrate the system...in my house. The paranoid schizophrenic in me LIT UP! :shock: <- that was kind of my face, but a little more of the "are you f'ing kidding me?!" look, too! He noticed the look and asked if this was a bad time, to which I said, yes. Then we went back and forth with when would be a better time for him to come back. I really wanted to tell him to go away and never come back, but now I'm thinking that if he comes back tomorrow...I will call the cops to come investigate.
The whole thing smelled of SCAM. Either to do something to me right then and there or to case my house and come back later. He left. I called my neighbor/local "mom"/landlord and told her about it and asked if they stopped by her house. They had not. I looked up the non-emergency Police number and called to see if anyone had reported anything similar. The lady I talked to was helpful but not. No other reports in the area..."would you like to file a report or would you like for me to send a police unit?" Ummmm...they didn't actually do anything to me and they left about 5 minutes ago...so no, no need to send the cops. :YMSIGH: Needless to say, my alarm system has been on the entire day. I worry about the proverbial little old lady that allows him in and they beat her and rob her blind. :-x Wow, this was a really long story. Sorry. Got me all paranoid. @-)

Definitely a scam. And creepy. And you're not paranoid if they're out to get you. :lol: :lol: Oh, and Shasta, nice green! :mrgreen:

Yeah, I'm a little sad that I didn't have my phone with me to call the cops right then and there, but I'm sure they would have taken off too fast. :-x Then, I hear on the news tonight that 2 women in my area were held up at gunpoint, driven to ATM and forced to withdraw $$ (he got away with $20). Description sounded similar to the guy that I talked to, but not exact. grrrrr. I want them caught.
