Osha is bouncing again from her greens last night. Silly kitty! At least she cleared the last one super fast and I am hopeful she can do it again. I really am loving all the green she has been giving me lately. I ended up giving extra food last night because I didn't want her to go below 50 and I really needed to go to sleep.

And there is her bounce. :banghead:

When are your starting levemir? I sure hope it stops these. It is almost like you need to do 1/2 dose Lantus and 1/2 dose levemir. Haha.

I am going to start Levemir on Friday morning when I can be home to monitor. Whats is funny is that Sébastien and I have joked about needing to do half lantus and half levemir. ;):p

I hope everyone has a good Monday

I hope green arrives quickly! However, if Mouzer would have started a morning off with a yellow below 250, I would have been pleased enough. I mean, not like all happy about it but at least not a pink or red ....... or that black! Maybe Osha will get down to green soon. Mouzer came down from the upper pink to his blues then greens. It will be green soon!!

I have to go get my dogs inside in their kennels so I can get out of here and if you respond, I will see it later on, when I get back. But I have to ask, was Osha yawning or meowing in the icon photo hahaha I have a kitty named Marsha with her mouth opened wide like that and she was letting out a big meow, so I had to ask :D

Have you decided on a starting Lev dose yet? Wise move to be around to monitor the transition.

Excited to see how she responds. I hope, hope, hope it levels her out. Good thing is you have the summer to get it figured out (I think-when do you start your new job)?

I wonder if the 1/2 & 1/2 has ever been done?

I hope, hope, hope it levels her out too. I start my new job on August 21st. With this new job, I will only be able to get a +1 before leaving and won't be able to get another test in until +10.5. It's making me nervous.

I completely understand. I get +11 literally when my feet hit the floor right after my alarm. Then shower and get ready for work except for drying/doing my hair. Then down stairs and get his autofeeder cleaned and setup for the day (includes PS meal). Draw insulin, test and feed. Post condo, update SS. Finish getting ready for work and then get cup of coffee and sit for a bit. Hubby leaves for work and then I have about an hour to do house stuff or just relax. Get +2 and update SS and run out the door. When i get home I only get PS before I feed/shoot.

Makes for a very short night if he decides to pull some low numbers.

The usual starting dose is 70% of the current dose, which would make it more like 3.75. I have seen some kitties have an extreme reaction to the inital dose after a switch. ie. all nighters. Not all do, but enough it's best to start a little lower. If you don't see good numbers, you can always take her up fairly quickly.

Often a +1 on Levemir doesn't tell you much. Onset is typically areound +4, so they are usually still going up at +1. Typical nadir is +8, but maybe you'll be lucky and it'll be later like it was for Neko. It's something you can play around with, but you may decide to head out the door at preshot so you can get a +9.5 when you get home. Thankfully you'll have time to gather the data needed.
