Logan's doing very well! His numbers aren't super great - he's been bouncing up into the reds a bit but we haven't seen a low number to warrant that big of a bounce. He had his 3 week recheck on Thursday. His CBC looked good - virtually the same as the last check. They skipped the liver panel this time, but we'll get it when we go back in 2 1/2 weeks. We're now giving him 1.25mg pred EOD - we'll be completely finished with the pred in a few more days! After the next recheck, we'll start decreasing his other meds. He's also on Metronidazole and pepcid.

He's at 6.5 units. I'll see how he does tonight but I may bump him up to 6.75 to see if we can get the numbers back down. He's eating well and has been pretty active so I think he's feeling good these days.

Today is a rough day for me. My civvie, Isobel, passed away six years ago. It was very unexpected and devastating. She ingested some ribbon and had surgery to remove the ribbon from her intestines - nearly 3 feet! She was expected to make a full recovery and was the "case of the month" at her vet's office. They failed to realize her liver was fatty b/c she had stopped eating. The morning she was supposed to come home, they called to tell me she had passed during the night. I'm still heartbroken six years later. Three weeks after her passing, my ex convinced me (after begging for 3 hours at the shelter) to take Logan home. He was a 3 month old kitten. I had nothing to do with him at first but finally went into his room to get to know him - we had him separated for the first few days. I sat in the chair and bawled my eyes out. He climbed up onto my shoulders and snuggled with me. Finally, he started playing in my hair and made me laugh.

Logan did not replace my Isobel - no one could. I do believe Isobel was taken away b/c Logan needed me more. If she hadn't passed, I wouldn't ever have adopted him. It doesn't take away the pain, but it does help me cope with it, knowing Logan came into my life for a reason. It makes him even more special to me. The thought of losing him takes my breath away. I am so thankful for the last couple of months. He's been doing well and it's a huge relief. I hope and pray his good health continues.

Sorry for the off topic!

Ack! There he is!

Great news to hear Logan's doing so well, and you know that the numbers are lots of times late to arrive and it is those signs of wellness you see first that are so relieving to see!
The bouncy and eating well are some of the best signs to be sure!

So sorry to hear about your civvie on this day years back; my condolences. It's hard to have such a story but I am a firm believer of things all happening for a reason.

Logan was meant to be with you.
