Their appetites do reduce in lower numbers. You won't see them being as ravenous as they are when unregulated.

@Bandit's Mom Thank you! Just did a test +2 300. I was expecting a drop especially because he didn't eat much carb with having the tilapia filet. I guess he's bouncing

Definitely bouncing. While not as ravenous when regulated they often are ravenous in low numbers thankfully because that’s when they need to eat.

@tiffmaxee Thank you! Yes, I noticed to when he's in low numbers he drinks more water too. I had stopped the appetite stimulate last weekend and he did well all week with eating. Then over this weekend, he was becoming more finicky and not finishing his food. I was thinking because his numbers weren't so high, but he has a history of inappetence I get a little worried that maybe he should go back on the stimulant

Inappetence is often due to nausea. Have you tried ondansetron? I ask because if you stimulate the appetite of a nauseous cat the cat may develop an aversion to the food he’s eating. Ondansetron often works better than cerenia for nausea. Cerenia is often better for vomiting. But of course every cat is different. Do you know the cause of the inappetence/nausea? For Max it was a sign of pancreatitis. I thought he was just picky until it was pointed out to me that he might be nauseous. It never occurred to me because he wasn’t vomiting.

@tiffmaxee Thank you. I'll ask my vet about the ondansetron. Butch does have mild pancreatitis and also has nodules on his liver. I picked up some FF flaked today and low carb FF medley pate. He seemed to enjoy it. He finished a can for dinner. His numbers came down after a high morning and earlier afternoon. Hoping for a flat cycle this evening that's regulated :D so I can get some rest

Hi @Bandit's Mom Thank you for checking in :) Butch is doing okay. I was dealing with some personal issues and didn't get a chance to update his spreadsheet to now. I'll post his today's testing as well. Looking at his spreadsheet, I believe there was some bouncing. Butch loves to bounce  He did have some blue and green too :D His appetite is better with different flavors other than the FF classic. He's been enjoying the FF medley pate and FF flaked flavors they are both 4% carb.
