Hope the feeder gets shipped soon for you. I use both the 5 tray and 2 tray models. 5 tray during the day so Curry can hear it.....and the 2 tray at night....Curry ususally sleeps w/me but I don't want to hear that loud noise from the 5 tray feeder in the middle of the night...so I put the 2 tray on my bed and it just pops open for her......At some point in time I'll let her free feed in the middle of the night but for now I'm monitoring her every bite....poor kitty.

Geeez Trix, when i checked in last week you were pretty much an exclusively green kitty.....what happened?

Trix has never used a feeder before. We're trying it for teh +8 snacks. With 5 civies in the house, it should be interesting to see who gets to it first. However, most of them aren't huge fans of canned food, and Trix doesn't hesitate to push anyone else out of the way, so I'm hopeful she'll win out. I got the 5 meal feeder, because I like the idea of being able to "cut her off" before +10 rolls around.

Tracy - I have no idea what happened. She was mostly green on S0.50U; now she's barely green on F0.50U. My suspicions lie with Wellness; when she was mostly green, she was eating EVO and Merrick's BG. But she suddenly decided she'd have nothing to do with either of those, so we had to go back to Wellness. It's been a slow, steady climb - numbers and dosage wise - since then. Not a thing I can do...the girl's gotta eat.

HOpe you get the feeder soon. Simon adapted to it like a fish in water. My civvie, Cleo, hardly ever gets the chance to eat out of it because Simon can push her out of the way. Hope Trixie does the same! Good luck on the dose change. It is so frustrating, isn't it? I tried Wellness for the first time today. Simon liked it but Cleo hated it. Have a great day.

Thanks, Georgia. Yeah, it is frustrating, but I have to admit that this time around I'm not quite as frustrated as I've been in the past. It is what it is, and we'll muddle through. Trixie loves the Wellness, and I have a feeling she'll take to the feeder like a fish to water, too! One day last week, she was sound asleep on the other side of the house. It was time for a +8 snack, though. I got the plate out with the plans of getting it prepped, then waking her up to feed her. No need for that...no sooner did I have that plate out than she was standing right next to me :lol: ! I don't know how she knew I was getting that plate out for her, but she did. So, I'm sure that she'll catch on to the sound of the feeder and free food in absolutely no time.

We tried a feeder about 5-6 years ago, when Simon & Sneaky were both FD.
It was hilarious. Simon was waking us up about 4am, so we thought it was worth a try..NOT :smile:

At 4am, feeder opened as scheduled. Simon came upstairs, crying. We go downstairs, feeder
has performed perfectly. Sneaky & Justice (our civie) are staring at it from about 3 feet away.
They glance up at us with "What's up with this?" looks. Simon joins them.
Any pushing or urging any of them towards it is met with growls and resistance.
We transferred the food to their regular bowls, and life returned to normal. :lol: :lol:

LOL...that's funny. Hopefully Trix will agree to it!

Years ago, we had one of those automated litter boxes (back when we only had 2 cats). One of my cats was terrified of the thing...not a good idea when it comes to litter boxes! The other cat LOVED it...he would do his business, and come back upstairs, but as soon as he heard that motor start up, he'd go running back down and watch the litter box do it's thing with great fascination :lol: !

Hi Amy!!! Sorry the Wellness isn't working for you. Too bad we can't switch Champ and Trixie's tastes around. Champ's getting better about eating the Wellness, but I still have to sprinkle salmon dust on it for him to eat it, but he is eating it!! I still give him some FF for his smaller feedings just to mix it up for him and, hopefully, he won't stop eating the Wellness altogether. I've noticed Champ improving in the way he's getting around since feeding him the Wellness and, thank goodness, I haven't noticed his numbers staying flat yellow like they had before when he was eating it. I just hope the improvement is for real and not just my imagination.

I haven't tried the FF with Trix...I do wonder if she'd like it, and if it would have a more postive effect on her BGs. However, I'm afraid to go down the "kitty crack" road! I'm glad the Wellness seems to be working well for Champ!!

I am, once again, heavy hearted tonight. I am a HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan, and was very saddened to learn that Clarence "Big Man' Clemons passed away today. He had a stroke earlier this week. It's the end of an era...the man was a genius. I am very thankful that I was able to see him perform live as many times as I did...
