Didn't get a chance to post yesterday -

Recap:
Monday, 6/17
AMPS 272
PMPS 389
+5 370

Yesterday Pepper had his CT scan. He did very well and was feeling very good when we brought him back to the hotel. He slept with me all night, snuggled up next to my side, something he hasn't done since he was diagnosed with feline diabetes. So sweet. Today he has his first radiation treatment. We are just waiting for the call to come pick him up.

I'm glad you had a safe trip, Nancy, and Pepper snuggles with you. Nothing like a snuggly kitty. I bet he purred you to sleep. :-D
Sending loads of healthy vines, and scritches, for Pepper.

I'm glad you got a chance to post the news! Neko was very snuggly when we were in Colorado too. :-D :-D She was a little wonky after her first radiation treatment, but I think we picked her up a bit early that day. It's good to give Pepper time to recover at CSU.

Great AMPS today! Sending successful tumor zapping vines your way.

Pepper loves his mamabean.
I hope today went well with the treatment.
Thinking about you guys!

Right about the time I was expecting to get a call from the doctor saying Pepper was ready to come home, she called to say the radiation machine was down this afternoon and Pepper hadn't been treated yet but he was about to go in for radiation. So it was a longer day than I thought it would be. The doctor warned me that Pepper was dysphoric as he was coming out of anesthesia - I think that's vet speak for one pissed-off kitty. I would be too. However, he's back at the hotel now and he looks good, eating - he was starving after going even longer than yesterday without food - and relaxing. They gave him a small dose of steroids and I think that may have contributed to the high PMPS. All in all, today went pretty well!

The steroids could easily contribute to the high numbers to say nothing of the stress.

In my world, dysphoric means mildly depressed but I guess it could mean in a bad mood.

Glad to hear Pepper is eating and feeling well and that they got the machine working again today instead of having to wait an extra day. Neko's first day of SRT I always wondered if her feeling off was due to the radiation. Sounds like they are giving prednilisone now to help with possible inflammation.

Pepper only got a half dose this morning, so that's another contributing factor to the high BG. Neko ended each day in the reds or upper pinks.

Paws crossed for more snuggling tonight. Half way done the CSU visits!
