Well, poor little girl must be feeling better. She had 7 teeth with resorptive lesions including the 2 lower canines. They extracted 1 tooth and did 4 crownectomies (the roots had already started resorbing into the jaw). She came home and started eating immediately! Still on the buprenex for another 10 days. She's sleeping this afternoon which is good as the buprenex seems to keep her awake and pacing around. Bit early to see any impact on her BG though I was surprised she wasn't 'that' high last night. I don't think today's yellows are too bad considering yesterday's skip.

Oh, and civvie Sam didn't want to miss out during his 1 week checkup. His one extraction had got infected so he also got a shot of antibiotics.

@Suzanne & Darcy thanks for checking in, sorry to keep you waiting for an update!

Ohh poor Minnie and Sam with the infection :bighug:
This must have been harsh on you too :bighug: good luck for the extraction to help with the BG.
We came from Chic’s dental as well on Thursday, I almost cried when we had to leave him at the vet and the anesthesia made him very dizzy for a while o_O not nice, he wasn’t himself for another day.

important is that it is behind us and we can move ahead from it :bighug:

Hmm. Too much talk of ketones, she's up to 0.8 but eating well. Added extra extra water to her food. She's otherwise seeming fine and finally seems to have had some real sleep this afternoon. Maybe time for a dosecrease in the morning.

Oh my! Minnie really did need that dental. She’s a tough one though. These crownectomies are getting more and more common it seems. I guess there’s a lot less trauma to the mouth than an extraction- although I suppose it’s a judgment call about how much of the root remains. And Sam! How many teeth did he have removed/crowned? Did they give you a course of Antirobe (clindamycin) for him? What about Minnie? Maybe she needs antibiotics as a prophylactic as well? I had peeked at Minnie’s spreadsheet so I knew she was okay. Thanks for the update. Hopefully this will really make a difference for her now - at least in the way she’s feeling and eating.

I'd definitely consider that increase. I think she had a few too many back to back reductions with the larger depot influencing and causing lower numbers. As a long term diabetic, and IAA, you should consider waiting for reductions earned by going under 40, or 3 times on separate days between 40 and 49. Or a week in green of course.
