Good Morning LL,

We had a good test, good shot with a so-so breffis. Leo wanted to go outside after eating only a few bites of his breffis. I let him out to roam around for 10 minutes and to have a big pee then i saw him eyeing up my shoulder which is what he does when he wants a ride instead of walking, he puts his paws on my shoulder and i'm supposed to pick him up with my arms. I brought him in and he finished up his breffis with gusto and was wanting more......this cat is giving me grey hairs!  I'm still giving him pepcid BID, i don't know if he still needs it but i'm too chicken to stop giving it.

Today is the big vetty visit day, we go in to see a cardiologist along with Dr. Mayer whom we saw a few weeks ago, she'd like to be there as well. There will be an EKG, chest X-ray and maybe an ultrasound depending on what they find with the first 2, oh and bloodwork as well. I was planning on asking them to show me how to give fluids as well and talk about Leo's lack of appetite this last week. I guess i should mention this is all for Leo's SRT, which is in less than a month!!!!!

We'll check back in after our appointment which is at Leo's +4, wish us luck!! Have a great day all :-D

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146 & vetty visit day

Good vetty visit vibes being sent to you! Very exciting day for both of you. How sweet on him wanting a ride. Tarragon likes to sit like a toddler on my hip with his paws up on my shoulder. Crazy kitties.

Will be waiting for a report. Good luck Tracy! :YMHUG:

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146 & vetty visit day

Hi guys .. nice amps leo! Sending lots and lots of good vetty thoughts your way .. Mocha is a "shoulder" cat as well .. she loves being carried up high .. and when she's on our shoulders, she tries to get even higher, sometimes eyeing the tops of our heads  have a great day guys!

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146 & vetty visit day

I'm sitting in the waiting room waiting for my boy. They took him in the back for his exam and came back out to tell me he wasn't being a very nice kitty and was growly! Not my kitty! so they had to sedate him for his chest X-ray, I've also asked them to ultrasound his pancreas as well in case he's suffering from a touch of p-titis. If the chest X-ray looks good then that's all they will do today. The cardiologist seems like a bit of a grump, but dr Mayer is lovely as usual, such a sweet lady.

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 & vetty visit day

We are all waiting for news! I hope all is clear for the trip to CO! :thumbup Leo being growly? Maybe he's taking his cues form the grumpy doc!

Leo, we'll be there when you get home. I gots new KTSS rosemary twig brushes. You will smell soooooo good, but not girly at all! -- Tess

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 & vetty visit day

I never understand why they won't let us be with our kitties. They're scared! I suspect our presence would help. I hope the rest of the results are just as good.

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 heart looks good!

We are home and i have one seriously out of it cat! He's walking around like a little drunk, he was hungry so i gave him some HC food in case he didn't want to eat for me later, he had to poop and ended up wobbling to the LB and pooping all over himself, but most of it was in the LB.....poor guy.

His heart looks great!! No abnormalities and all valves look good, no sign that extra growth hormone has done any damage. His pancreas is enlarged, but the doctor said since he's eating and doing good with the pepcid BID that i should continue with it. He gave me some spiel about cats acting normal having enlarged pancreas' and cats with all signs and symptoms having normal looking pancreas', it all sounded like BS to me

We are cleared for CSU!!! :RAHCAT

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 heart looks good!

Great news Tracy!!!! I'm so glad you are home and everything looks good to go. Tarragon just left on his way with KTSS.

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 heart looks good!

Hi Tracy -

Glad to hear things went well and he's gotten the green light.

I'm thinking that some vets prefer NOT to have the beans back there for a couple of reasons... my mom's dog used to be extremely protective of her, and would snap at the vet if they tried to restrain him while she was in the room. Likewise, I know they took him to the back to cut nails once. Mom said she heard him cry REALLY loud, so they probably want to spare the bean that trauma, or spare themselves the wrath of the bean! With cats, some owners may not like seeing the way they restrain them for procedures. My vet does a housecall for the annual shots, and one time they were trying to get blood from Wally's leg. He's not accustomed to being scruffed, but was more than willing to lay belly up in the tech's arms and cooperated fully! So sometimes, it's in their best interest to let the beans stay.

I don't know that they've done much to my cats without me being present. I actually got to watch while Ronnie's leg was amputated (golfball sized tumor behind knee). It was hard at the vet school to just sit in the lobby feeling helpless! But I expect that's probably what can be expected at CSU.

Kudos to Leo!

Lu-Ann

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 heart looks good!

Way to go Leo! ♥ I'm happy to hear that his heart is looking good. ♥
Now I hope he feels better and no more drunken wobbly legs.

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 heart looks good!

Tracy, great news! Hope Leo feels better from all the sedation today. Poor guy...no one likes messing on themselves!

Re: 6/18 Leo AMPS 146, +5.5 182 heart looks good!

Well i suspect i ruined what looked like a nice blue day by feeding Leo HC all afternoon, he ate pretty much a whole can and wee bit at a time and kept it down. He sat by his dish allllll afternoon starving to death!! He kept wobbling over to check the contents at least every 15 minutes, poor guy.

Re: 6/18 Leo PMPS 297

Good news about a great looking heart and that you are all cleared for the road trip!

I hope he gets over the wobbly legs soon. Looks like he has appetite, at least for the good stuff.

Re: 6/18 Leo PMPS 297

Great news, Tracy! I agree with the otheres...the most important thing is that Leo ate and kept it down. Besides, he had a rough day - he deserved a little extra HC. Not to worry, the numbers will follow. I can't believe how quickly his SRT road trip is coming up!!!

Enjoy a relaxing evening!!!

Re: 6/18 Leo PMPS 297

Thats wonderful news for Leo, so glad he got the all clear.

It was a hard day for him, so I agree, he earned a little HC today. Glad he was able to eat and keep it down.

Thanks for the HOT kitty nurse Vyktor and the rosemary rub down from KTSS. Do you know they shaved my belly today?!?!? They gave me something and i fell asleep and i woke up with a shaved belly!!

Leo is doing well, he's absolutely ravenous today/tonight. I'm trying to hold him back and feeding him his regular amount. But he's driving me bananas!!!! I can't walk anywhere, he thinks i'm going to feed him.
