Georgia and Simon (GA)

Simon has been on the antihistimine for a few days now for his itchy ears and it seems to be making him feel better. Less scratching noticed. I have noticed that his bg numbers have crept up slightly over the last few days, mainly with blue numbers. This morning was a nice surprise. Simon is happy, all P's in place. Last night he had a great time playing ball with his favorite toy, a wadded up piece of paper! I throw it and he runs after it and brings it back to me. Then he and Cleo fought over the nanner last night. Simon has had no interest in the nanner until last night. Of course, all the fighting over the nanner happened when I was trying to get to sleep!
I am going out of town for a week to the North Carolina mountains with my mom, brother and sister and their families, leaving tomorrow. DH is coming up on Thursday so he will take care of Simon until then. Then I have a friend staying with Simon and Cleo for 2 days when we are both gone. I made the decision not to have her give any insulin to Simon while I am away because she is unable to test. I think he will do ok since his numbers are never out of the low to mid blues. Hoping I made the right choice!
FYI: My civvie Cleo has developed a love for the aluminum water dish I keep in my bathroom. I have noticed her drinking alot more from the bowl lately so I was terrified that she had diabetes. I broke down and tested her even though I was scared to death to do it. Good news--I have tested her a few times and she is always in the low 70's. Yay--no diabetes!! I found out she just likes licking the water over the lip of the bowl because more water is on the floor than in her mouth.
Have a great day and I'll probably post once more tomorrow morning before I leave. sorry this is so long!
