Mila and Pancakes

My Pancakes was doing so well a little bit ago surfing greens for a good while but when I reduced the insulin the numbers started going up. Now I think my Pancakes is constipated. About two days ago I had to help my kitty evacuate. The days following the first incident were not bad. I followed her into the bathroom and she went fine without any straining or mess. But this morning again she had a problem. No meowing or yelling but she was rubbing against a mat and needed help evacuating again.

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing? I imagine it's the insulin that is constipating her? She eats fancy feast pate's normally the chopped grill, turkey and giblets, chicken and chicken and liver. Someone told me to give her unsweetened pumpkin? What do you all think?

Thanks,
Mila

Poor little girl. I've never used pumpkin myself. When Tori has been constipated which is not that often I have used Miralax. It works really well for her and the joy of it is that you mix it with a bit of water and put it in with their food and they don't even realize it's there.

Mila - you may want to post this in the Health forum. I am sure there are alot of people who have dealt with this as well and can offer some suggestions

Hi Mila

sorry to hear Pancakes having a hard time

I'm hoping others will chime in, but from what I've read, you'll want to make sure Pancakes gets liquids into her, tuna juice, water, avoiding dehydration..and some Miralax could help.

Are you able to get some mid cycle spotchecks this weekend to see what's happening lately on 2 units? you'll want to keep an eye on the numbers as well.

With FF, I've had issues with the turkey/giblet flavours when we tried FF. Not sure about pumpkin.

Good idea to cross post this thread to the Health forum too - this will get more eyes on you as well.
