Yesterday's Condo

We has green! That's three days in a row! Today is the first one during the daytime, though, so that makes me even happier. dancing_cat

I don't know what was up with his AMPS - maybe a mini-bounce? If it was, Cinco broke it pretty quickly. Otherwise, he's doing just fine.

The vet student watching over Sasha called this morning and said she was doing well. They are keeping her on some pretty strong pain meds, so she isn't moving around a lot, but Amy said she's eating and purring. They were a little concerned last night because she wasn't urinating, and they thought she might not like the kind of litter they were using, but I guess that's been resolved. She should come home tomorrow, if all continues to go well. I thought about asking if I could visit, but I'm not sure it's a good idea. I know I will cry when I see her. I'm hoping my DH can go with me when it's time to bring her home.

Harvey's vet just called, and he does not have a UTI! In fact, she said his urine and his meds look better than they did the last time they were checked - his kidney values are back to normal!!! :-D :-D :-D I'm going to give the credit for that to the changes I've made in their diet - lower phosphorous! Much as they all love Fancy Feast, it looks like that will be reserved for the occasional treat from now on, and it's going to be Wellness and other low phos, low carb foods. She said she has no idea why he was acting the way he was, but we both suspect it might have been gas!!!!!   Apparently he passed a lot of it while he was at the vet. She said to keep him on the Cosequin, as it's just a good idea anyway for older cats, and to go ahead with the remaining two doses of Onsior. He seems fine today. That was an expensive case of flatulance!

I'm going to TRY to get a workout in now. I was in my workout clothes yesterday, and procrastinating, when I talked to the vet and she said to take Harvey in, so I didn't get to one yesterday, and I really need to do it. I only have a couple more days when I can workout before my surgery, and then it's a month till I can do it again. Sooo, here I go.....

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

Big hugs for you, Tricia, my goodness, you and your family have been through a lot. I had to giggle at Harvey's "expensive case of flatulence". I hope that's all it is. Sasha will adapt quickly to her new situation. Did you see the YouTube video of the two legged dog Duncan at the beach?

Good job, Cinco, breaking that bounce! Now get your surf on.

I've been waiting all day for your condo.I am glad things went well. Eating at the vet's is a real good sign. My cats so far won't unless I go there and feed them by hand. Cinco will adapt easily. They are very resourceful!! I hope you get a good workout. You have already had your mental one.

Nice slide for Cinco today. I'm glad Sasha is doing okay after her surgery. Great news that Harvey doesn't have a UTI.

Great news for all your kitties! Did you go visit Sasha today? I've heard mixed thoughts on visiting our babies after a major surgery...I know the vets and techs want the kitties to relax and I think they know we beans are just super sensitive. With that said, we did visit our Mr Kitty years ago after he had surgery that kept him hospitalized for a few days. I don't know if it upset him, but being able to spend time with him did help us feel better. Naturally, you want to do whatever the vetty recommends...it sounds like she is in awesome hands. I hope DH can go with you when you pick her up. I know it really helps me to have my DH along for moral support.

Our prayers continue!!!

Hi Tricia,

Lots and lots of vines going out tonight for Sasha. So glad that Harvey is OK. Cinco looks good. When is your surgery? Sending you advance vines!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Thanks for stopping by, Liz, Elise, Carla, Amy and Ella.

Cinco is enjoying the havoc he is wreaking with my blood pressure. He isn't going too low or too high, but he is keeping me guessing, which is stressful enough!

Liz, that video was amazing. I can't believe how well that drooler did on two legs! He seemed to be pretty young, though, and the younger they are, the more adaptable.

Elise, I was really concerned about her eating, but the vet student said her appetite was just fine. Big sigh of relief! I did get a good workout, and although I don't really enjoy exercising, I always feel better afterward.

Carla, it was a good slide today, although that first step was a doozy! Maybe that's why he's staying on the yellow floor tonight.

Amy, I did not go see Sasha. I thought about it, but I decided not to go - I knew I'd cry at seeing her like this, and she was so doped up that it would have been even more heart-rending. The vet students that called did not suggest it, and I didn't ask, although I'm sure they would have said it was fine if I'd wanted to go. I visited Kisa when was hospitalized last year with what turned out to be his fatal illness. It really just made it more upsetting - seeing him like that and having to leave him again. Sasha is in awesome hands. His main student, Amy, called tonight to give me an update, and she said that they were transitioning Sasha from the heavy pain meds that kept her "out of it" to some lighter ones. She said Sasha was more alert and responsive and that she had her "aha" moment, when she realized she could get up and move around. Amy said she was purring and getting lots of love, and also that she was eating well. Thanks so much for the prayers.

Ella, my foot surgery is Wednesday, a week from today. I went to Petsmart today and bought a backpack style carrier. I think that will be my best bet for getting Sasha to and from the vet while I'm on crutches. Thanks for the vines. I'm ready to get this taken care of, as the pain is distracting me from the important business of caring for my babies!

you really have your hands full! Glad to hear that Sasha is going well and Harvey's vet visit went well. Cinco looks good too!

Thank you for stopping in Spot's condo yesterday...I wish you luck on your upcoming surgery. I will stop back in today's condo (Thursday) and chat more....my pain pill is taking effect right now and I need to go lay down

Hey Tricia wanted to let you know that Sasha is in my thoughts and prayers. If you have any questions or want tips on how to make things easier for Sasha at home after surgery, I am more then happy to help in any way I can.
