Well Mama is much happier with today's numbers than she was with yesterdays! China reported to duty at the lagoon early and has been there all day (so far)

Guess she knew LagoonMeister Rusty would be trip-bouncing again and figured she should show up early!
In just as fabulous news, last night I finally got a return phone call from one of the plumbers I called but when I talked to him then, he said he wasn't allowed to work within city limits because he didn't have some kind of license the city requires (for tax on materials or something). We talked awhile longer and I told him what all I'd tried so far and the fact that I'm disabled and on a limited income and he said "well, maybe I can come by and take a look tomorrow around noon"
At about 11:30 this morning there was a very gentle knock on my door...a little old man in overalls said "Hi, I'm Doug and we talked last night. I thought I'd take a look and see if there's something I can do to help you". As we talked, I learned he was 80 years old!
After taking everything apart under the sink and working for 3 hours, I finally have working kitchen sink drains!! The clog wasn't in any of the pipes under the sink...it was further down between the floor and the basement in the pipe running through the wall, so it was a really BAD clog!
He also put a new flapper in the toilet so it'd stop running
After all that work, he absolutely refused to take a dime no matter how I offered it...I even said I'd just "accidentally" drop some money in his truck window and he just laughed and said no. He's one of the many Mennonites around this area and said that God says we're supposed to help our neighbors in need, and that's what he was doing and told me to thank Him. He then invited me to come to his church (I had to decline since I usually take DM to church on Sunday)
Off he went, with my sincere gratitude and thanks....and now that I think about it, since he wouldn't take any money for all that work, I think I'll send a donation to his church in his name. I'd feel a lot better about it!!
Anyway, so far, good day all around here....Let's hope it continues!!
