Good Morning LL

Getting a late start posting and 'puter problems also. I somehow lost my morning post, but it just said, Checks is lackluster today.

Last night, he stepped in his poo, and had it, along with litter, stuck to his feet. This is the guy who spends a good portion of his day in the tub!
When I placed him in the tub, to hose his feet, he screamed and wailed so loud, the civvies came running, to see what the commotion was.

They stood in the doorway and watched me trying to get his feet hosed off. I wasn't able to even get soap on them, I was afraid of hurting his back, 'cause he was struggling to get away.!
We both would have gotten less wet, if he had just stood there and let me do it. :lol:

I'm going to remind him of this today, as he's yelling at me to turn the stupid faucet on! grr_red

I need to run out to store for a bit. I'm going to get a wider plastic 'under bed' storage box, for litter. He seems to not have enough room lately. Maybe his back hurts and he can't maneuver...don't know.

He smells unpleasant, much of the time, and using wipes is not a satisfactory bath. He's not cleaning himself well.
He's always had sleek, shiny fur.
I can tell these things, only one at a time. it hurts too much to put in writing, his aging process. :cry:

Hi Barb. Looks like Checkers is going to be content to surf in the yellow zone today. It is hard to see our little buddies get older. How is Checkers's weight? Katie, one of our civvies, had a problem that resulted in a lot of butt washes which she definitely did not like. After she lost about 4 pounds (18# down to 14#) she began keeping herself clean back there. I guess her tummy got in the way before. Just a thought.

John, one of my biggest heartbreaks, is Checkers' weight loss. At his healthiest he was 17#....he is now 7.5.
He feels and looks terrible. I'm afraid of overhandling him, for fear of hurting his back..the bad disk.
I can't figure out why he smells like he rolled in dirty litter. The boxes (3) are cleaned as they are used. I'm home most days.

I think I figured out why he's been getting his feet filthy lately; he's leaving the wet bathtub, and going into LB, with sopping wet feet!!! :roll:

We had a flat yellow day...hope that doesn't mean green tonight. I'm not so good at nighttime testing.

Poor kitty, funny story but not on his part, I clean boxes all day and sometimes Taz comes to me ad he smells worse then the box and he is a very healthy cat,I don't get it :lol: My bedroom is far away from where the boxes are and I find cat littler in my bed,glad I'm a cat person most would say yuck and ohh. things we live with. good luck today :smile:

Hi Barb, it is hard to see them getting older. I see some things in Mags, too. Oh my, on the bath. That is not one of Maggie's fav things either with getting the feet rinses. I can picture the civvies come running to see what all the screaming is about? :-D Did you get out to buy another LB? Give Checkers some scritchs and hugs from us.

It was nice to see him come down, for pmps.
I never got the box that I'd planned, as it is low, and Checkers is a guy that likes to aim high. I'll stick with the high boxes I have, for now.
He is very unhappy with me for keeping him out of the bathroom all day. grumpy_cat No more wet feet/legs, in LBs !!

It is hard to see our furbabies grow old. I hope he slides down slowly for you tonight. Poor Checkers. I guess he only wants water on him when he decides he wants it. :lol:

Hi Barb,

I'm so sorry to hear how you are hurting inside about Checkers. I just asked Gobble the other day, "how did we get old so fast"?

You're such a good momma--maintaining his FD, bathing him and loving him :-D

((Barb)), it IS so hard when they show their age. Painful reminders...

Poor Checkers and the wet feet/litter issues.
Back when Ripley was a regular tub-drinker, she'd often visit the LB with wet feet ~ I'd know because I'd hear her walk through the house with a little "clink clink" with each step on the linoleum or hardwood floor. And cleaning that litter off her paws was like dealing with cement!

Give your old guy scritches from us.
And hugs for you!
