Champ was one rambuncious little kitters this morning. Unfortunately, it was at 5 a.m., 1.5 hours before breakfast time and 1.5 hours before I wanted a rambuncious kitty hopping on my bed and running around!!  I ended up having to give him a small spoonful of food just so he would let me sleep. Boy, can he be persistent!! Then he's back at 6 a.m. wanting to be fed. I just wanted one more half-hour in bed!!! Just a half hour!!! Then, to top it all off, just at that moment, the smoke alarm in my bedroom decided the battery needed to be changed and started chirping. One loud, annoying chirp every minute. For a whole half hour. Until I wanted to pull my hair out. Because, really, who keeps 9 volt batteries laying around the house?!! Well, I will from now on!!! In the long run, Champers got his breakfast, ate it all up (even though it was Wellness ;-) ), and I went back to bed. And the chirping stopped!! I'm still going to get new batteries for ALL the smoke detectors in the house and change them all!!! Poor Champ didn't get his +1 or +2 meals since I was I-) I-) I-) I got up in just enough time for his +3 so he was hungry enough that he again ate his Wellness with gusto :thumbup

Well, I have a messy kitchen to clean up and I need to make a trip to the grocery store....I think I'll leave the messy kitchen til last. Maybe some kitchen elves will clean it while I'm at the store!!

Have a great Caturday, everyone!!!

Wow, sounds like a very hungry kitty!!! Is Champ hungry when he's got low numbers? I've noticed Leo does not eat a whole lot when he's low, even the grandparents said he hasn't eaten as much this last week. But he's beefing up again....16.4 lbs he weighed in at last night....yikes!!!

I hope those elves show up while you're gone grocery shopping....... not likely tho!!

Champ, i know you can do better than those yucky numbers, why don't you come down a little bit ok?

Have a great day Patty!

Well, I see Champ and Zoe are hanging out together pink and yellow  Not great colors for these kitters.
Hope the kitchen fairies come - if you figure out how to make them appear, please let me know!!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Patty. Thanks for dropping by our condo :-D

How do you cook your chicken? Do you put anything on it? salt, pepper, etc. or just plain?

I hope Champ comes back down soon.

Re: 6/18 Champ AMPS 323, +3 278

Thank goodness cats have very simple palates. No need for any seasoning. I just fill a pot with water, let it boil, drop in the chicken breasts (usually do two at a time) and boil away. I like them to barely be cooked all the way through. If the chicken is a little raw, it's chewier and it actually cleans the cats teeth as they eat it. Just make sure you don't cut the pieces too small because then they just swallow the pieces instead of chewing. I measure out two ounces of the cut up pieces and put them in snack size ziplock bags and then freeze them. I take out one bag at a time and Champ usually eats about 1 oz a day. It's the cheapest snack ever, especially if you buy the chicken on sale (I will ONly buy it on sale cuz I'm frugal...not cheap, just frugal  ).

Re: 6/18 Champ AMPS 323, +3 278

I've been buying freeze dried chicken...expensive! I cannot do it anymore!!

Thank you Patty. I'm going to go buy chicken! yay! I'll let you know :-D

Re: 6/18 Champ AMPS 323, +3 278

I hear you, Natalie!!! $14 for a big bag of the freeze-dried chicken that didn't even weigh but a few ounces?!!! I don't think so!!  And Champ loves the boiled chicken just as much as the freeze-dried. He still needs his freeze-dried salmon, though, but I portion that out sloooowwwlly!!

me and the trader joes- they make some inexpensive frozen chicken breasts, thats what i used to cook, refreeze, and toss in the tub for the cat. it's cheap, just the right size.

Re: 6/18 Champ AMPS 323, +3 278, +8 122

We buy the bag of chicken breasts from WalMart and boil them in water. Shred them up. Then I will add it to Tarragon's food, especially the flavors he is less enthused about.

Did the kitchen fairies come? I could sure use some of those!!

Champ and Tarragon had the same idea today. Hope you have a great evening!

Re: 6/18 Champ AMPS 323, +3 278, +8 122

The kitchen fairies did NOT show!!! I'm still debating on cleaning the mess myself or waiting a bit to see if they'd still like a chance to help out!!

I have no idea why Champ is frequently going down throughout his entire cycle instead of nadiring somewhere in the middle. I know nadirs can shift, but it's like he isn't having one. And Marje pointed out the other day that this is a sign that they're breaking a bounce, but he's not bouncing. I'm clueless. I'm just here for the ride, I guess!  And to pump him full of insulin and food.

Good evening Patty! It's sure nice to sort of be back. I've missed you and I understand that Champ has been keeping you on your toes as well.. What a lovely pmps number!! WOW!!!!!!
I feel that you should just wait to see if the kitchen fairy will show up. Who knows, maybe while your catching a little shut eye this evening it will magically clean itself  ..
I have one of those big bags of freeze dried chicken coming, and I think after this one, I'm going to try your way. A little more work involved but a whole lot more money saved.

Patty, I wanted to thank you for the very kind words you posted last week for me and for my Charlie Bear!
I hope that you have a restful evening and can catch up a bit more on your sleep.
Hugs :YMHUG:

Mannie has done this on occasion too.... nice pink amps, the a slow slide all the rest of the cycle. Champ was at a 119 yesterday sometime - could be that the amps this morning is a slight bounce from that, and he's just clearing that. Sure is a nice pmps tonight though - nice shooting! Not much of a food spike - I wonder what Champ has planned for tonight. :-D
