Hello everyone!!

Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=120434

Billie is looking much better today! :-D Hopefully, we'll see green again soon.

I've been having a little trouble with her pokes the past couple days. Until now, she has been very easy to test, but for some reason, she has been extra squirmy and meowing a little when I poke  Sometimes, she gets squirmy and meows before I poke, like she is anticipating it. I am using the 33 gauge lancets and trying to be as gentle as possible. I always lather up the Neosporin + pain relief after each poke. Her ear doesn't look bad, but I'm wondering if it's hurting more now for some reason. When we are just hanging out and I pet her head/touch her ear, she doesn't get upset, so that makes me think/hope it's not hurting all the time. I have been using her right ear and tried switching to the left a couple times, but it takes me multiple tries to get blood on that ear, maybe because of the angle. Maybe I should make more of an effort to switch ears.

I'm just wondering what other people do. Do you use one ear or switch? Do your cats get upset sometimes?

Thank you!

Re: 6/18 Billie AMPS 204 +2.5 133 poke question

I only poke China's left ear...Her right one doesn't want to bleed as well, so it's that ECID thing again

China gets squirmy on me every once in awhile, but most of the time she's really good about the whole thing.

You might try putting the neosporin with pain relief on about 15 minutes before poking so it can have the ear numbed a little in advance of the poke. Just don't put so much on that you gunk up the strip or make sure you wipe it off well before poking
