Bailey has the vet today - we will see what the cause of the diarrhea is.. and a general checkup.. or at least worst case we will spend another ton of money on inconclusive tests...

Anyway he is in a good mood.. snoozing beside Tiggy on the carpet making it hard for us to get past and down the stairs.

Hi Wendy. Good to read the Bailey is feeling good and resting calming before his vet visit. Hope the vet visit results in the diagnoses of the cause of the diarrhea and a treatment plan finalized. Also hope your purse isn't too much lighter when you come out than when you went in.

Have a great day Wendy.

Hi Wendy, what a couple of stair-hogs  When Gobbles had that month-long bout of diarrhea back in March to April (during the trailcam days), I spent a ton of money (actually maxed out a cc) and all tests came back inconclusive...finally, the vet said it had to be his diet and I was feeding him too many different kinds/flavors of food. He also said he is probably sensitive to fish and beef, so limit those to once per week. So I picked two--turkey and chicken--plus started giving him the ReNew probiotic--I truly believe the probiotic was the cure...in fact, if I see soft serve or somewhat loose stools, I start another round of that probiotic.... I now feed him the Friskies SD Ocean Whitefish & Tuna for maybe 3 or 4 days, then switch over to Friskies Turkey & Giblets pate for 3 or 4 days, plus supplement that (lol) with FF Chunky Chicken...funny that the whitefish isn't effecting him.... Good luck with the vet visit; keep us posted :-D :-D :-D

Just got back from the vet. Thinks the two diarrhea issues are unrelated.

First , thinks Tiggys is stress colitis.

Second thinks Bailey as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and/ or a thyroid issue - which would explain why he has smelly voluminous poops since we have had him, plus wont gain weight even though he eats 5 cans FF a day. Bailey also has a nodule on his thyroid. Gave us flagyl for the diarrhea for both of them and another barrage of blood tests for B12 levels, thyroid levels, lipase and amalyse levels, some gut panel to check his lower intestine, plus a stool check for parasites. Another $700... :(

Hi Wendy,

Sounds like your vet is doing a great job trying to diagnose. Hopefully, you'll get some confirmation on what's going on. Yikes on the $700; that sucks
