morning...
had to go do a blood draw before coffee this am.... blah.... but I made it....

2 hrs of work, lots of house cleaning getting ready for company ( 2 days to go)

didn't sleep last night.... started on the couch but only stayed there an hour figuring the pred would keep Shadow boosted enough.... she wasn't eating much by midnight but I gave her a cypro and she ate
by 3 am....
wasn't her that was keeping me up.... probably just that anticipation of all that I need to get done....
I do that....

Shadow ate shrimp with her shot...
and I'm trying to eat more appropriately so I scrambled an egg.... Shadow ate 1/3 of it...
came in the kitchen very talkative....
give me your egg!

so I did....
I don't really like eggs so i'm happy to share especially if it gets food in her....

trying the egg breakfast /protein thing...
as I want this weight off.... now.... but as long as it keeps heading downward... that'd be good too....

healing vines to beans and kitties.....

Good kitty. Begging for food and then eating it is a good thing.

One step at a time Rhiannon. It'll all get done and what doesn't get done doesn't matter!

Happy appy, Shadow, keep eating little girl.
Try not to stress over what needs get done, Rhiannon. As Marilyn said, what doesn't get done doesn't matter. Life is short...enjoy :):bighug:

Glad to hear that Shadow was interested in food today. Hoping that she keeps it up. Hope you get some rest tonight.

That is great Shadow is liking the egg....a great protein.....good for you too!
Does she like liver...cooked or raw...?

I am using the ointment on Sheba's ears and it is doing a great job. Her ears are looking much more like they should...thank you.

Looks like the appt vines and prayers might be helping so I'm sending tons more. Max ate some of my string cheese today. This us a cat that never saw human food before his bladder was pierced when he was five. I was told he had to use the lb and eat for me to take him home. I was asked what he liked besides cat food. I brought tuna, chicken and Gerbers which was the winner.

i am wondering if my error last night might have something to do with her eating a little better last night...
i forgot to give her the gengraf.
if she could only tell me if it's bothering her tummy.

@tiffmaxee
gengraf is a modified cyclosporin. It's newer on the scene but it has anti-inflammatory properties. It's supposed to help with the ibd/lymphoma
and is replacing the budesonide which definitely raises bg. The gengraf doesn't.

the pill is actually liquid inside. I started with a capsule version that you had to be very careful removing from the package because you could
crush it too easily. The one I have now is a liqui-gel ( like nyquil) from diamondbackdrugs.com...
it's not cheap.... but not expensive either. I think it was about 50 /month.

I've never heard of it. I'm going to do a little research. I'll let you know if I find out anything of interest.

That is interesting that Budesonide raised her BG, I thought it was the pred doing that. Also, interesting that the gengraf is used for IBD when it's major side effects affect the GI upsets. All I hope is hat she continues to eat--mega appy vines being sent. Hope you sleep better tonight- ever tried yoga or tai chi?

@Tiger and Ruth the budesonide raised her some, not super dramatically..... But...in combination with the prednisolone.... the two really boost her.
the vet intends that eventually we will phase out the prednisolone altogether... and she would just be on gengraf.

it's just the internist chose to use gengraf over budesonide because she needed prednisolone on board.
if the gengraf didn't work, the intent is to go back to budesonide after we are able to discontinue the prednisolone.

the vet would also not have had me start insulin yet.... she thinks her numbers are just fine in the 100's and 200's
I insisted on the insulin and she didn't argue with me but the bg numbers set them all a twitter...

I didn't share this earlier, but Shadow occasionally goes and sleeps on the dog bed in our bedroom. And today, every time I walked in and out,
she would kinda of stretch , roll, and do her little preeee noise.... so it seemed like she felt better today....
maybe it is because of the gengraf.....

gave it to her tonight.... see if tomorrow she'll behave the same way....

i love it when I open an eye in the morning and get this trill cat sound... kinda like she's saying "uh" but with a kitty trill.....
i've recorded it a few times but I need to get my recorder back in the bedroom and see if I can turn it on before I open an eye.....
