Doodle is doing pretty well. His numbers are good, and his constipation issues seem to be resolved.
(I think he's benefitting from the weekly fluids he's been getting at the vets when he goes for bloodwork.)
He's spending a lot of time lounging out on the hot and humid patio - still drinking quite a lot and peeing quite a lot and his blood pressure was still elevated (160)when checked on Tues. But overall he seems happy.

He's licked his belly raw since they shaved him for his ultrasound on 6/10 and he injured (scraped) his temple on 6/1, and that just doesn't want to heal... I may have to resort to an e-collar - which he will HATE. My fingers are crossed that he will leave them alone and they will heal without having to do that.

Aldosterone level is still pending but here's the rest of his bloodwork results from Tues.

Na - 165 (150-165)
K - 3.5 (3.5 - 5.8) -- his potassium is up from 2.6 :-D
Cl - 123 (112 - 129)
(magnesium level pending)

Bun - 38 (16 - 36)
Crea - 2.9 (0.8 - 2.4)
Phos - 2.9 (3.1 - 7.5)

Oh Doodle leave your tummy alone baby! I know you hat being naked there but what you're doing won't make your fur grow back faster. Poor little guy. I hope that you don't have to resort to a collar. Glad to see the blood work is better. Take care.

Not sure if the bite not collar would be better then a e-collar I have used it myself and my cat Belle was quite upset in it but it did keep her from licking but she almost did not eat anything while in it either.

Thanks for the "bite-not" collar link Heather! I may try it.
Doodle has a problem with e-collars because he runs into things and it distresses him. And since he drinks so much I fear it would cause him to become dehydrated if he weren't able to drink when he wanted.
Of course he may respondthe same as Lisa's Belle - in which case, i guess i'd just take it off him and try something else .

This is my favorite type of e-collar. I have a cat and a dog one at home, just in case, and I did use a dog one after my dog's liver biopsy. He didn't mind it at all. I had an elderly dog with bad skin issues and I think she kind of liked her collar, she'd position herself so she could relax her head and snooze on it. http://www.shop.softecollar.com/categor ... tegoryId=2
