Happy Father's Day LL

Not much to report today, spent most of it with DH's family… Daphne didn't have her deck time, but she'll get some tomorrow. It's going to start to get very hot here in a few days, they say 95 degrees and I know that will not be deck weather for Daphne or myself. So I guess we will be in AC for those days. Thinking about getting Daphne shaved, with her long hair, she really can't take the heat. We did that a few years ago, and she looked pretty funny, but I know she was comfortable. She doesn't like to have it done though, and thats what I'm worried about, I can't imagine what her BG will do. We have a traveling groomer and she does a great job, and she does not need to sedate, which is a plus, (I think, but I don't know how traumatic it really is on Daphne).

Have a great night, going to spend the rest of today with DH for Father's day.

Nice cycle for Daphne. It will start getting hot here this week, too, but I know yours is more humidity also. My Mom lives in Pa, so I remember the hot summers. Enjoy the time with your family.

Looking good, Daphne. I would think the trauma of the shaving would be worth the comfort in the hot weather. We won't laugh at her haircut. Promise.

Lookin' lovely, Miss Daphne!!!

We had to give Petey a lion cut a number of years ago...he looked so teeny without all his fur, but he was happy! However, he needed it because of his knots (he and his brother are both knot-meisters!). If the groomer is calm and gentle, hopefully Daphne won't be too stressed. If she were to spike her BGs during grooming, no doubt she will come back down in no time.

Enjoy the rest of Father's Day!!

Ann, I forgot, I remember you said you were an east coast girl. Yup, it's the humidity that make the heat so bad here. I would love to live in CA!

Liz, I was thinking the same thing, trauma of the shave may be worth the comfort, for the next 3 months of heat.

Amy, yes, it is the knots also with Daphne, we were combing her as much as she would let us, and before we knew it, she had uncontrollable knots that she will not let us touch now. We swore we would not let that happen again, and I can't believe it took over so fast. You may know this women, she lives in town, can't think of her name off hand, but the only thing I don't like is that she takes Daphne in her vehicle, (nice, clean, new…), but she doesn't allow kitty moms in it.

So tomorrow, Daphne will go on a real diet. I know I said it before, but now we are serious. We even found our digital scale and weighed out the food today. I'll give details tomorrow, and blood work on Friday, it's like kitty boot camp here this week.

Its late, and I am exhausted from Father's Day, (it doesn't take much, just made breakfast  )
Good night LL!

We dont have the knots problem here. All my cats are the domestic short hair with barely any long hair, definitely no undercoat. But still need to brush every week so as to minimize hairball issue.

Lovely green curve for Daphne!

Liz might not laugh at the hair cut but I can't promise I won't giggle a little!

Daphne looking lovely as always
