Good morning! I am off today and actually went btb this morning after giving shot/feeding! First time since dx. Normally have coffee before testing/shooting but skipped it today and went back to sleep. I got 2 extra hours  I will never, however, get back all the lost hours, but it was nice for today. I just dont function well without that first cup ~O) and have to be alert to test/feed/shoot. I proved it can be done, but dont like doing it. I will be testing again in a few minutes to see where shes heading, and hopefully she is coming down to greens today. Have a great day everyone!

She didnt make it to green today and Im confused once again :? How can this same dose that took her into the 30s on 4/28, not bring her down below 50 this time around? Do they develop resistance to insulin over time? I cant imagine where she is headed if thats the case. I never thought I would be giving her 3u, and we are 5 months since dx. I know, I know, patience...

Hi Laura, Chi Chi had a similar day to Tiger- except Tiger included an ugly red and stinky pinky number as well, let the bouncing begin I guess! Of course, I have no expertise or dosing advice for you, but I have long and often wondered the same thing about insulin resistance. As to how she went down to 32 on 4/28 on 2.75units, I think it may have something to do with how the insulin depot that builds up, that and the cats ability to utilize the insulin? Chi Chi went low on 5/15 (48) and that was on only 2.25units, that was 14 cycles of 2.25units. (And your mom was calm enough to test her at 48 and knew to give HC? Wow, your mom is amazing! ) Anyhow, it looks like Chi Chi may be due for another green day because tomorrow will be 4 cycles since her last green BG. I don't know very much about FD, I'm too new at this to know anything, but this is what I've noticed. It really looks like you're doing a great job, your mom too; and patience is the key! And that's hard for me to say because I don't have any patience but Tiger sure has taught me something here. nailbite_smile
