I'm just now getting a chance to update on Peyton. Last night his PMPS was 176. I had set my alarm for two different wake up times but it apparently canceled out one so I only have one nighttime level. He was 110 @ +6.5. This morning AMPS 204. Is this normal after going so low two days in a row?

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton AMPS 204,+3 184,+6 176 BOUNCE? Failed red

What's happening? Is this a bounce? Failed Reduction?
I was getting used to treating those low numbers and now we are sticking in the upper 100's. Could it be from going below 50 two days in a row?

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton AMPS 204,+3 184,+6 176 BOUNCE? Failed red

i think he may have bounced from the 40's yesterday and is beginning to come down now. it's hard to say, because he did get to 110 last night. Some cats will kind of "work up" to a full blown bounce.

we also know that from one shot to another, absorption can vary by as much as 50%.

i wouldn't call it a failed reduction yet. not at all. i'd just wait, continue to give the 0.25u and see what he does in the next couple of cycles.

take advantage of the higher numbers and go do something you want to do this afternoon!

Ha! That sounds great Julie but it almost makes me feel guilty. Think I wil go watch my niece at gymnastics since she's been dying for me to come :)

GO!! Enjoy the gymnastics!

When our kitties give us a break, by all means, take advantage of it! If it weren't for the occasional bounce, a lot of us wouldn't get any sleep at all

Very true! I'm off to enjoy a little "me" time...and run buy Peyton another set of stairs :)

We definitely need to take advantage of those bounces to get out once in a while. I hope you enjoyed watching your niece do gymnastics.

My niece was ecstatic to see me there :) The parents and guest sit in an upstairs room that is glassed in overlooking the gym floor. She must have been watching for me because when I finally spotted her she was waving and jumping up and down. My sister was unable to have children and so they adopted Gracie from China. I couldn't imagine life without that little girl! I don't have biological children just my fur babies. I love that kid to pieces :)
Cute story...the other day I was explaining to her what was going on with Peyton and that sometimes it makes me sad. She told me that the next time I was feeling sad I needed to breath in and say "blue skies in" then breath out and say "grey skies OUT." Kids have a wonderful way of making things better.

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton AMPS 204,+3 184,+6 176

I'm glad you got out for a bit Julie! We all need some me time and for me that was the most important thing about figuring out Neko - when can I get out and have fun.

Peyton's looking great, a bounce to 204 is hardly a bounce at all. :-D

Your niece sounds very wise.

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton PMPS 171

Peyton's PMPS level has not gone up from his +6 level. Hopefully this is a good indication that we had a bounce

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton PMPS 171, +2.5 92

Oh dear! I feel a pj party coming on tonight! If he does keep dropping and I catch it before it gets too low should I go ahead and start lather, rinse, repeat to keep him from dropping further?

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton PMPS 171, +2.5 92

WHOA Peyton!! Where's the fire??

He may not drop below 50 tonight, but unfortunately, the only way you're going to know is to keep testing for awhile anyway. You could go ahead and feed him a little of his regular food now and see if it'll help get him up on his surfboard....you could probably give him a little higher carb food now too (but still under 10%) ....Now is the time for these kinds of experiments so you can learn what to do the next time (if there is a next time....which there almost always is!)

Just make sure you keep track of what you're trying in your "remarks" on the spreadsheet so you'll have that information

We generally don't want to feed the high carb stuff until they drop below 50

Re: 6/17/14 Peyton PMPS 171, +2.5 92,+3.75 107

I'm glad you said that because that's exactly what I did :) He's at 107 now so I will check him again in about 30 minutes without food and see if he's staying up

Hi Julie. Another good night for Peyton and this time not too low. You will even get some sleep most likely!!
