Re: 6/16 Nikki AMPS 368; +3.5 424; +6 444; +7.5 375

She could still be bouncing off that 136 from Friday night. Or I'm inadvertently giving a lot more calories than I thought as I'm switching her food? The raw is higher calorie than the z/d so that could be it. I haven't felt any wet fur, but I checked and she's got a faint Lantus smell, so maybe I had a fur shot this morning. I hate the morning shots, my eyes are barely open!

She was headed back down at shot time, I'm gonna grab a test and she if she's still headed down. I hope I start getting more normal curves once she's off the HC food... :?

I wouldn't worry about the food change not immediately reflecting in BGs. Sometimes it is literally overnight, sometimes it can take up to two weeks after switching before their BGs catch up. :thumbup

How is she doing, digestive-wise? No tummy issues with the new food from the sound of things, right?

She's doing amazingly actually. This is the best she's been in the 8 years I've had her. I'm wondering if her pancreas is happier with the addition of insulin and so she's processing her food better. Even on the z/d her stool was much firmer as her numbers got lower. So far so good with the dehydrated raw! I should have her on it 100% by the weekend. I fattened up her 1.5 by a drop and either that made a difference or she cleared a bounce. Her numbers were much better last night.

I'm hoping that if things go well I'll be able to move her to frozen raw so that her carb load will be under 5%. :-D

WooHoo! So glad to hear how much better she's doing! Once she's fully transitioned onto the raw this weekend, I expect you'll see even better numbers. Go, Nikki, go! Show your mama how much you like your new food.

Numbers ok, haven't dropped too low yet with the ongoing food transition.

Still doing well with eating the new food and tummy behaving.

All good news.

SUCH good news. I was a little depressed about it all (hence no new condos over the last 2 days) but I think things are looking up. I'll be excited when I start getting spot checks that show a relatively normal curve!! :-D I'm so grateful that she at least has this chance to enjoy life for a bit.

I suspect I'll have to keep playing with her dose until the food transition is done. As long as I can keep her in the blue/yellow zone until then I'll be happy.

Thanks for stopping by to visit us! It gets pretty quiet over here...
