I could not find a "loose lips" condo from yesterday.

I am pretty tired this morning from staying up late last night to watch the Bruins win the Stanley Cup.....sorry Vancouver. :-D
It is a beautiful sunny warm day here in Boston.

The Putster is happy to be sitting in the window.

My heart aches for Sandy.

Hi everyone .. yesterday sure was a sad day around here ... it's hard to lose a furbaby so unexpectedly ..

It's dreary and misty here this morning so housework will probably get attention since there is nothing else to do!

6/14 Loose Lips

Sherry said it best when she told Lauren that our furbabies are never with us long enough. It's so true. How sad that their lifespans are not closer to ours . . . wouldn't that be great?

our chickadee babies are getting close to flying. i think starting sunday i'm going to get up at dawn and hope that i can catch them leaving the birdhouse. it's one of those special moments that you only get to see once or twice in your lifetime - i've only seen it once and they are 6' from my front door. i'm hoping this will be the 2nd time.

Yea Bruins!

Ella I am not sure when the last lunar eclipse was but it has been 36 years since the Bruins last won the Stanley Cup. If you've seen one lunar eclipse you've seen them all.

Love it!!

I got so caught up in unpacking, I totally forgot about the eclipse!! And it was a clear night here, too. Bummer.

Fixing to storm here. Hoping it clears out by lunch!

Stupid Vancouver punks that went downtown to act like losers really made an impression on the world. They did not go there to watch or celebrate.

Julie I am behind on your chickadee babies. Can you fill me in? Do you have pictures? I love the chickadees here. So bright and cheery and stay year round. They must like my black oil sunflower seeds.

glad the Bruins won....they deserve it....

my team didn't make it....so in the beginning i was a fan of the Canucks...but after game 3 i switched sides...DH was for the Bruins all along....let's be honest...i can't be loyal to either...i went for the team that won....after all....if my team was in it....Miriam....you and I would be having a few clashes

on a more serious note....my heart today is heavy for Sandy at the loss of Tessie Lou....sooooooo many kitties leaving us this year....hard to believe they're here today and gone tomorrow....

I'm glad you spent your time cheering the bruins on, you couldn't have seen the eclipse anyway, unless you live somewhere other than north america. We were about th only place in the world that couldn't see it.

So......what do you think Ella was looking at?? :?

    My DBFF's husband is from Boston and is a diehard Bruins fan (I guess that is redundant). She said their lives have been ruled lately by the hockey game schedule.

So......what do you think Ella was looking at??

I bet she was I-) I-) I-) and not looking at the fll_moon fll_moon fll_moon

Holding Sandy close in thought today. We will all miss Tessie Lou.

Hey LL! Just thought we would check in and say hi! Java is doing great, monday was his one month anniversary. Tomorrow we go in for a checkup. More vetty smells to get rid of. :( Java has a huge appetite now and if I don't give them each a can and a half at night, I am duly wakened at 3 am. every night. without fail. no matter what. We tested for the first time on Wednesday and I have to say I was terrified. He was 133 so I tested 2 hours after feeding and Voila! 69! Good little pancreas! Well it was nice catching up. Miss you all, LL!

Julie, it sounds like such fun to have the chickadees. Can pumpkin see them?

So sorry to hear about Tessie Lou. How heartbreaking for Sandy. I can't imagine....

sad as yesterday was...this condo is cracking me up...
which is a bad thing, as i have the Grandmother of all Earaches...

and laughing hurts.

what Higher Being could make the humongous mistake of making laughter hurt???

we can all be certain it was NOT Ceiling Cat!!!

and i would like to point out that the best hockey ever to be seen is the Idaho Mighty Mites...
ages 4-10 yrs old. Freakin' hilarious.
Their hockey sticks are all too large for them...and one of them takes a swipe at the puck....and they all fall down.
Too cute...

and hello to steph and java!

i'm not going to make it to anymore condos...
can't hold my head up,,,

(pain...NOT shame!)

will be thinking of y'all...but have to check in tomorrow.

CONGRATULATIONS, BARBIE DOLL AND HANDSOME CHECKERS!!!

I watched the moon and waited a while for the eclipse, but it never materialized (of course I never bothered to find out where one could view the eclipse! Just took Michelle's word for it). The last lunar eclipse we saw was dramatic: it got very dark, the wind stopped blowing, and an animal howled. Well, I guess the Bruins were just as good!!

Ella

Hope your ear gets better soon, Celi.

Not being a sports fan...
On one of my professional listservs, a very well respected senior person from Boston announced to the entire listserv that a colleague from Vancouver would be buying him dinner at the November conference. Those Boston fans are truly diehards!

I am likewise so sad for Sandy. I am also delighted for Michelle (Doodle (GA), and now Angel's bean). We really do share in each others sorrows and joys.

you're right - we are die hard fans around these parts! Personally I couldn't care less about hockey, But I'm a huge red sox fan. I didn't even watch the game last night. I think that might be considered blasphemy around here. The guys at work just rolled their eyes at me and talked about the bruins all day...

Miriam-
I went to Tia's (on the water front near the North End) tonight after work with some friends and the Bruins were there WITH the Stanley Cup. Part of the restaurant is outside on a patio and that's where they were eating and drinking. Not too many people were there because it wasn't "advertised" but there they were all shaved. Marchand came later and took pics with people. He had tan man-capris on  and flip flops. I took a pciture of the Stanley Cup but I couldnt get too close. I saw the captain and Lucic. I am not a real fan, just on the band wagon because of the Stanley Cup so I don't know the players names. It was still exciting. News cameras started showing up and helicopters were hovering.

hi all!

karrie, the chickadee house is on the front porch, which is in front of the kitchen. so while anya sneaks onto the kitchen counter, punkin's not much on jumping up on the counter anymore. but, he's not too deprived because the entire living room wall is window and that's where i have all the bird feeders.

the chickadees have it made - nice little protected house out front, buffet on the back of the house! at the moment the parents are busy running worms into the house all day long for the babies, but i have seen some chickadees at the feeders recently, so maybe they're feeding themselves there. the babies should be ready to fly this coming weekend, i think. i need to check on the number of days til they fledge, but i think it's 14-16, and i first heard babies on monday a week+ ago. once they leave the house they don't return.

ladies night out tonight with 3 of the women i used to work with - it's mexican night. wahoo!
