Between Zell and my DH last night, I barely got to sleep!!! '

Zell wanted attention but he didn't know how to get himself to the right place to enjoy it. He was laying with me in bed, fidgeting every few minutes, scratching me and nipping me (on the face/neck/chest). The scratching isn't like kneading, its is slow and deliberate and more like trying to get your attention (however, at the time, he had my undivided attention). He was also so worked up he was slobbering a bit. He couldn't settle down and just enjoy being snuggled even though he wanted to. It got to where I had to push him off the bed because he was hurting me (and it was becoming too much between the clawing/biting/nonstop fidgeting). He would just jump right back up and keep doing whatever he was doing like nothing happened.  This went on for at least an hour before he FINALLY settled down and curled up by my legs.

Then my DH, he was tossing and turning and fidgeting (and it was warm in our room) so he would lay ON me (never does this) and then move 5 min later because he made himself too warm. He also "talks" in his sleep (will hold a really random conversation with me in his sleep and not remember doing it). He also does this thing (weekly) where he will (TRY to) make me get up because he thinks there are bugs/snakes/random things in the bed, he will check the bed (meanwhile cussing or general babble), we will go back to sleep, and he won't remember doing it. I handle this by (while disguising my laughter the best I can  ) firmly telling him no! that he's sleeping/dreaming right now, there isn't anything, and to lay down and go back to sleep (it starts with him sitting up abruptly or propping himself abruptly). He usually babbles about something, laughs, and lays back down (if i'm not extremely firm about it, he won't settle down until I get out of bed so he can check it).

This morning, Willy came in and was stomping around and licking my face to get me up. Ugh! When he wouldn't stop, I got worried he might be hypo or low so I rushed up to check on him and ofc he was totally fine. What a brat!!!

Unfortunately I didn't get to take my road test yesterday. I am so bummed because I was totally ready (emotionally). On the way to the MVD, the power steering went out--- again! So the car just went back into the shop this afternoon. They seemed genuinely surprised that it wasn't fixed so they fit us in quickly. Hopefully it's something silly and an easy fix and I can try again tomorrow or Friday.

That is hilarious!! My DH talks in his sleep but doesn't make sense. "I called the shoe and they said lasagna." He gets mad because I will carry on the nonsensical conversation with him and he will wake up part way into it. It is way too funny. But snakes in your bed??? That is a hoot. Wonder what Freud would say about that.

Sounds like Zell and Willy aren't helping matters.   What nice numbers for Willy though.

I must be behind the times, but what is your road test for?

Poor Steph... you're going to need a getaway weekend by yourself at a hotel just to get some rest!! My brother was a sleep talker when he was little. Being the rotten (much) older sister that I was, I'd keep him going for quite a time.

Hope the kids let you get some rest tonight!! Willy is looking great this morning!

This is exactly it too!!! "The flag has hands for all the children to hold" ... me: "....oh yeah?" him:"yes *mumbles a bunch of things I can't understand* and *some talk about video games but strung together in a way that doesn't make sense and had I not played them too I wouldn't understand at all*"

The bug thing is like "oh shhhh... get up theres something i swear" (but all mumbley and slurred and in the process of jumping out of the bed) me: "honey, there isn't anything you were sleeping LAY DOWN AND GO BACK TO SLEEP" (I have to be firm or he will sleep argue with me   ) him: "*giggling* was I asleep? HOKAY! *slams head back down on pillow like a child*" OR "I SWEAR there is something... oh its a string... was I asleep? (back asleep before finishing that statement)" ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

I've tried to record it because it's so darn funny but I never can get to my phone and start recording before he falls back asleep. He never remembers doing it.. though sometimes he will actually wake up during but only faintly remember it happening in the morning.

Road test is for my license!! I had a phobia and never learned to drive (no actual reason, completely irrational, still very uncomfortable but bearable for the most part). Started working on it because of some family drama that made me so angry it overpowered the fear and used the momentum to work on desensitizing from there.

I totally need a vacation! Been thinking about going to see my mom for a day or two, but it's sooooo hot even with central air her house is uncomfortable for me! So maybe I would be better off meeting her at a spa or casino!

I laugh in my sleep too! When I sleep talk I usually remember doing it-- even if I don't remember what I said.

Willy has been very loud and active (not playing but not snoozing like he normally does) today. Normally he settles down in the bathroom after an hour or so (he needs to decompress after being around food) but he was still chirping away and was sitting on the counter. He's been meowing at people outside and generally making his presence and opinion known to the world. It is a bit concerning though... because normally he has settled down by this time and is snoozing or laying in the sun about to snooze. He came into the living room and was yelling at me like he does when it's almost time for food and was purring a lot. Neither is bad, just unusual for him for this time of day. I took his BG and he's around 68. Awesome number but the dive was pretty sudden so I am sure that has something to do with it. I will be keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't drop further since that was at +3 (+4 was 80) and he is prone to later onset.

What an amazing day for Willy today!!

    on the DH sleeptalking. I hope he doesn't read the condos but if he does, I hope he has an awesome sense of humor. I also talk in my sleep. Glad I have a DH who keeps my secrets
