WCR: All Ps in place. Someone's got some cattitude today! Her appy hasn't been great and I hate when she doesn't chow down. :sad: I got a few snuggles last night at bed time and she hopped into bed with me this morning at 1st btb. When I got up at +2 for her poke it was raining...couldn't help but to go to bed for a 2nd btb! We did get some good old fashion entertainment earlier as we watched a crow dive-bombing a vulture on my front yard. Pretty sure the crow was just protecting his/her nest/family in my oak tree. Meanwhile the vulture just wanted the dead raccoon by my mailbox. It was still really funny. Here are some sweet pictures of my silly girl...

WHR: Doing ok today. Need to run to the pharmacy to pick up Shasta's heart meds, but I just got sucked into watching "Hoarders"...and now I feel the need to clean my house. :YMSIGH: @-) Yesterday, I decided to shave Shasta's scratching post. Yes, I know...shave her scratching post?! She has learned that when she really wants my attention, if she's rotten, I will stop what I'm doing and tend to her. So, her two favorite things to do to get my attention...chew on my iPhone case or eat the bits of rope coming off the scratching post. Here are the before and after pictures!

Love the pictures! Did you make all those nice places for her to lie down...her feeding mat, her green mat? Good job on the scratching post.

Do I release all the Lantus into the chamber...all at one time? Or small amounts at a time?!

I am confused by the question. Have you used a pen before?

With a pen, you don't inject air or lantus back into it. With a vial, you inject AIR into the vial but no insulin back into the vial. If you mean when you are drawing the dose INTO the syringe from the pen, I usually draw an entire dose plus some all at one pull of the plunger. Then I disengage the syringe from the pen and adjust my dose.

PS: it might be a good idea to put on her SS when you start a new pen or vial.

NEVERMIND!!!! My brain was all sorts of wrong when thinking about where the insulin was "in the pen" and needing to dial the dosage, etc. I got it now! Sorry for the confusion, Marje. :oops:

Oh, and I made all the pillow cover things, but not her eating mat...I'm not that creative! :-D

Aww, such cute pictures of Shasta. That's nice she joined you on that first btb this morning. That sounds funny with the crow and the vulture.

Apparently, my front yard is just a hot spot today. Not only did we have the crow dive-bombing the vulture, but also we had some sort of domestic violence citation issue. Here is the order of events: cop car pulled into my driveway; cop talking to a female walking down sidewalk; civilian car pulls over behind cop car; man gets out and cop talks to him; cop starts taking notes or writing up ticket (?); 2nd cop shows up. At one point the man goes to get into his car, but the cop stopped him and made him sit on the ground. :shock: I was formulating a safe place for Shasta and I to hide if bullets started flying! nailbite_smile CRAZINESS! I did want to go out and say HI to the cops, but didn't want to get in the middle of things. And I also know it's not ok to sneak up on cops while they have their hands on their guns!

Ok, Shasta is now on new Lantus, so here's to hoping that her numbers come down! Carla, thanks for stopping by today. Hope you and Furball are having a nice Caturday.

Hi Deborah, ohh action packed condo today. First, hope things have settled down there in your hot spot. That's always so upsetting.
Love the pics of Shasta. I hope you fed that starving kitty. :lol: I love the covers you made for the mats.
Now please stay in the house, no stepping out to say "hi" to the cops. :lol: Order yourself a pizza.
Oh I know what you mean by the Hoarders show. I caught a show a few nights ago, and I staete looking around my place at all the sentimental things I keep. I know I could use a professional organizer for myself, but wow with all the stuff they keep.

Things settled down here with no bullets or brawls or tasers! :-D Shasta was unfazed through the whole ordeal. surprise, surprise, surprise! After I fed horses, I buried the dead raccoon in the pasture. And damn...can you say "dead weight"! (literally) So gross! :shock: Anyways, Shasta has been in her usual mood swings tonight...lovey one minute...evil killer cat the next. Got irritated enough that I clipped her nails tonight...then she decided to snuggle next to me. suck up! :lol:

Ann, I eventually fed her, but that was an hour before shot time. She just thinks that I will jump up and get her food whenever she wants. :roll: :lol: hmmm, pizza does sound good. I'll have to grab one this week.

Liz, I'm with you on the black cat thing! :-D My first cat from college was solid black and his brother was solid gray. My little black kitty was named Wednesday (my nickname from my sister...after Wednesday Addams and the Addams Family) and my roommate named her little gray kitty Friday. Referring to the days of the week or the cats got a little confusing! :lol: :lol:
