Hi! The weather has been absolutely beautiful here for the past 2 days, sunny and in the upper 70's with a cool dry breeze. It feels great.

The only drawback is that without the ac Racci had an asthma attack again this morning. She was in a good mood all morning until meds time. All of a sudden she decided she didn't want any today & started giving me a hard time and herself an attack! I managed to get most in her little by little (still need to give her ab) throughout the day by doing them one at a time. ;-) She's eating, playing, doing all the other things she should and seems fine otherwise so I don't know what the sudden rebellion is about when she's always been good about it.

I hope all is well and to visit some condos later today. DH went grocery shopping so have to put everything away any minute when he gets back & then enjoy some outdoors time. See you all later.

OMG! I'm sorry to hear about her asthma attack. Merlin has asthma but I don't think he's ever had an "attack"...it must be so scary!!! Stop rebelling Racci! Your mom is trying to get you better! @-)

Hope the weather doesnt trigger her off, but My DH is asthmatic since birth, and I know that anything especially stress, can be a trigger--Miss Racci, please take your meds!! Your bean has only the best intentions! Hope she will be better tomorrow-- Hugs & Love from us!!--Ni Ni!

Hi Traci,

The asthma attacks are very scary for both of us. It makes me feel so helpless to watch her struggling to stop coughing and breathe and not be able to do much except give her rescue meds and I have a trick that sometimes works. If I get her mouth open, she will sometimes take a breath and stop the attack. She clamps her mouth shut when having an attack and makes cough/snorts through her nose.

How did you know Merlin had asthma if he never had an attack? That's usually what makes people take them for a chest xray. Thanks for visiting!

Hi Roni,

It is very frightening! And yes, there are so many triggers! It could be the weather or something blooming, or stress, or a tube of Flovent that's run out too soon or too much exercise or excitement, or even being sick. I have to be very careful with her.

We've been really lucky though and she hasn't had an attack in a long time. Then all of a sudden this past week she's had several. I think it's either her Flovent that ran out or something blooming. My lillys are in full bloom. They're beautiful and very sweet smelling. I wonder if that might be what's bothering her?

Sorry your DH has it too. My DS had it very badly as a young child but outgrew it, thankfully. We used to be at the er at least once a week for months when he was little.

Well, at least Racci took all her meds tonight without a problem! :smile: I left her alone and didn't do a test midday to let her sleep and it seems to have put her in a better mood tonight.

Hi. I found out Merlin had asthma because he used to pant. I knew something wasn't right so off to the vet we went. He had donuts on his lungs. He also used to cough but not now because of the flovent. Sometimes he hangs over the side of his cat tree (pressing on his lungs) and starts to cough. If I change his position he stops. I've been lucky to find the right dose of flovent that keeps him feeling good. There doesn't seem to be a season or whatever that triggers him. I'm really glad to hear Racci took her meds today and stopped being a rebel!!!!
 
Hi Traci,

You're lucky you discovered it that way & haven't had to deal with attacks. Each one feels like she'll never be able to breathe again. Scary. We were lucky in that Racci didn't have to stay on Prednisone but she still has a little trouble once a year or so at her allergic time sometimes. The Flovent works other than that. Today she took her meds until the end then started complaining at the last doses. I still have 2 syringes to give but will give with her lunch at her +3 test. Thanks for caring!

I must have posted the same time as you and missed you. Racci has been mostly green day & night now for days! I haven't been getting much sleep because of it but I'm glad she's doing so well, thanks.
I noticed that Rosy had some real nice bg's also but haven't been able to go visiting condos. Between being sick and falling asleep constantly. :lol:
