Not a bad AMPS reading of 253. at +6 and 1/2 she is 162. I can live with that. Hoping we are on the road to regulation now since numbers don't seem to be bouncing the the extreme highs we were seeing. Input anyone?

Question about the Lantus 3ml cartridges. I got the script for them filled today. Went to several pharmacies and got prices ranging between $175-$215. Finally I stopped at Rite Aid to ask and the pharmacy tech signed me up for a RX discount card...and the 5pk of 3ml cartridges ended up costing me only $46. I was thrilled. And they are good until July of 2012 unopened. But my question is...do I stick the U100 insulin syringe in that little gray button on th eone end of it to draw out the insulin? I don't want to ruin a cartridge by doing it wrong. There is some sort of screw type thing on the other end that looks like it might be a syringe type thing. Just want to check with those of you who use these cartridges before I mess it up.
Thanks!

I used a vial with Tugger but when Bean spent the night she had her Lantus in the cartridge or pen thing. I just put the needle into the gray rubber stopper and drew it out as if it were a vial.

There should be what looks like a cap with a spongy sort of center -- kind of like what you would see on a vial just a much smaller version. You insert the syringe in that end. Take a look at this photo from the Proper Use sticky.

I'm amazed at the price you found. I'll have to check out Rite Aid (if we have them here!). That's an absolutely incredible price and easily the lowest I've ever heard.

I was just going to post that same thing about the price! I had to pick my jaw up off the keyboard for me to even make this comment!

I couldn't believe it when he told me that either and I even asked him "are you sure?" and he said yes. I handed him over the cash, grabbed my bag and got the heck outta dodge!

Thanks for the link to the pictures of the pens, Sienne. Of course I saw them before, but seeing the real thing kind of threw me.

discount cards really can be good if you can get all your supplies and insulin there. i am stopping at the pharmacy later to use my points and pick up a box of 50 strips.
The other day, I used points to chop $75 off my 5cart pkg of lev

Not sure where in Chicago you are, but I quickly checked a few of the numerous zip codes for Chicago and all the stores that come up in the locator are in MI. Not sure how far that is from you.

I have a rite aid right up the street. I could walk there. I am totally going to go check on that, I was buying Tugger's Lantus vial at Walmart and it was $100 AND a farther drive! *writes note to self to go visit Rite Aid tomorrow*

Wow - I have a script for the cartridges but I'm still using the vial. I was going to call around for prices... I fear that price you got will never be repeated, but wow - definitely worth a shot!!!

Make sure you get that RX Discount card since that is what seems to have given me that great discount. I'm still thinking it was a mistake, but I hope not. Let me know how you make out. I am curious.

Michigan is not in my neighborhood!! But thanks for checking on the store locator.

I don't know, Sienne. For $46, maybe Michigan could be in your neighborhood!!!

Maybe they thought Meadow was a person?? What a fantastic price. I pay $46 for a single cartridge at Kinney's. I'm going to ask my vet for another script and take it to the Rite Aid and see what happens! Thanks for the tip.
