Happy Father's Day and Gracie and Tobey send tons of kitty love and gratefulness to their most awesome Daddy!!! And we send healing vines to all who need them especially JD today.
LBG has had a lovely morning playing with Tobey AND today she got her treat ball with FD chicken treats. She batted that thing all over the kitchen until nary a piece of chicken remained    Sweeping up after her is a small price to pay to see how adorable she is when she's doing this. Of course, Tobey has figured out that it's best to let her do all the work and then try to scarf the treats down before she gets to them. He actually acts like he's going to headbutt her and then steals the treat
Gracie seemed a little off last night. She was eating but not with her normal gusto and she wouldn't quite clean her plate (unusual for her). So when her BG started up instead of continuing down, I figured something was up. Sure enough, at +9, she started heaving in our bed. Ick. I picked her up trying to get her to the floor but she couldn't make it and so it was all over the bed and me. I didn't see a hairball in it but there was definitely hair in it. I tested her and she was way up there for her. She usually will do that if she has a hairball. She's feeling much, much better today and her numbers are coming back down where they should be.
Tricia....yes, we live in the Foothills. And you are right as we have a lot of the same critters here as at the Desert Museum (inc javelina, bobcats, coyotes, hawks, ground squirrels, tarantulas, a variety of snakes inc the poisonous kind, roadrunners and tons of other birds, on and on). It's wonderful. We've even had mule deer in our yard  While we have not seen a mountain lion in our neighborhood, there was one in the adjacent neighborhood just strolling down the road. All of the properties where we live are all on at least one acre and the vegetation, other than within people's walled backyards, is native. It's pretty cool. And speaking of pretty cool, our mama hummingbird had babies again this year and they both fledged today. They are now busily buzzing around the yard. We always worry one will shove the other out of the next but now we've had three sets of twins the last three years and they all fledged safely.
Have a great day.
