Nice #s Disco!
have you ever tried an MC rather than an HC when he's in the 60's? I can he is not really carb sensitive from the spreadsheet. Are you trying to keep him in the Blues and not bouncing? Looking at a lot of options for my Nova, and trying to understand, not underscore.
I used to think Disco was carb sensitive as a couple of teaspoons of HC used to bring his number up quickly, but recently he has been slower on the rising of numbers it seems.
I have tried MC (Fancy Feast Grilled 12-15%) and Sheba Purrfect Portions Cuts 11-15%) and try to post when I do that under Remarks in his SS and if you look at that, you probably see no real consistency of when I feed MC vs HC, but most of the time, I feed HC if he is under 60 and MC if he is 70-90.
I used to feed him an LC (3% Fancy Feast or Sheba) after every spot check test, but he has put on so much weight this year that I don't give him a snack after every spot test now, but give FD chicken hearts instead. His SS often has all the colors of the rainbow in it and I still have trouble figuring out any consistency to when his nadir might be, sigh...
I would love to have him stay in the 80-120 range, but I would say I'm trying to keep him in the blues. I do have a timed feeder, but have not used it as I am retired and home much of the time and always have to wake up a couple of times in the night anyway to pee, so have not set up the autofeeder but just give him a FD treat when I test him at night.
I have tried the LC snack after spot tests in the past to try and keep him smooth and see if that would bring more greens and blues, but again, I see no consistency to his numbers, but that may be because I just don't have enough experience, but I know that @wendyandneko and others with lots of mentoring and experience say that he is unique and gets 'up to his tricks' and they give me 'Disco only' advice and warn lurkers that he is not like other cats...ya know ECID, HaHaMeow! Any perspective or advice you can give is gladly accepted!
