Yuck Cobb!

Well, I may be redoing my R scale. It doesn't seem to be putting a dent in these high numbers. So I gave a bit more this morning. I have been getting some night tests in, even though it doesn't look like that from my spreadsheet. Sorry. Cobb has been a bit hungrier this week, so we all know what that probably means. Oh well...we're managing it fairly well. Not great, but ok, I suppose. Most days are in the yellow, many under 250. Days like these are irritating, but we'll get it all under control at some point.

Lots of celebrating today...Matt's first Father's Day! Yay!

Happy Father's Day to all the daddy beans out there (Brian and Tyler, Rick and Mr. Grey). We always focus on the mama beans, but you are just as important!! :smile:

Wendy, yes! We went looking at houses. :roll: I don't know why. We feel like we need more space, even though we have a large house. I know we didn't get everything we wanted when we bought this place. It will probably be a good while before we move. We want to move closer to both our works, near a local town square, but the houses are out of our price range. Matt and I budget for one paycheck, which has come in handy for the past year. We both went through furloughs at our last company so we don't want to be caught off guard like that again.

Deb, yes! We live in Atlanta. It was 92 today so we took a dip in the pool. Matty is getting more comfortable in it, which means he's moving around more in his ring float and I'm freaking out a little more. :roll:

I know I said I wasn't going to, but I upped Cobb's L dose tonight. I eyeballed a unit increase. I'll call it 31u on my SS. I figure consistency is what matters most, and I know where I measured to. I'd like him to head back down into blue territory. He's been hungrier the past 2 days, and his numbers have been higher so I figured I'd give him a little extra juice.

While I was giving him his shot, I felt a lump right at the injection site. It doesn't seem to hurt him when I touch it. I massaged it a little bit. For the past few days it has felt like I was shooting through something hard. At first I was worried it was his spine, but it really isn't near his spine. It's just in front of his flank. Could it be calcification because that's where I always inject him? Or are we looking at something like cancer? I can't get him to the vet for awhile, and he acts like he feels great and no weight loss, so I'm not sure what level of concern I need to have here. Thoughts?

I'm reading it could just be scar tissue. Or a tumor. Gotta love Dr. Google! :roll:

I'm going to stop injecting him there. See if it goes away. Maybe if I inject in the scruff or elsewhere, he'll absorb the insulin better. I read a lump can form if there isn't enough fatty tissue in the area to absorb the insulin, which could also explain his higher numbers.

If the is at the injection site, it could just be scar tissue. Spot has them on both side where I give him his shot. I do try to switch sites myself.

Glad you guts got to do some fun things today! House hunting can be very stressful....but at least you do not HAVE to move, so it's fun!!

It's likely scar tissue or a fatty deposit. See if it goes away. If not, have the vet take a look. Definitely have the vet take a look if it gets bigger.

Thanks guys. You've eased my mind a bit. It's smaller than a marble. It's the first time I've taken the time to feel it. I'm sure Matt is looking at it as I write. (For someone who doesn't like animals, Cobb sure does have a little place in his heart.)

I hope it's scar tissue. Try shooting in the scruff for a while and see if it goes away.
