Well Miss China went racing down to the lagoon this morning to check on the kitties, spent a few hours paddling around and is going to spend some time on shore this afternoon, working on her tan (no worries!..she always wears sunscreen!!)

In the never ending saga that is my life, I have a totally clogged kitchen sink I've been trying to clear all day. Have to take a break from that glamorous job to take DM to the sleep apnea doctor this afternoon, but will be back at it soon enough. I REALLY can't afford a plumber, so I'm trying all the hints and tips on YouTube hoping to find one that will work.

If I can get the sink draining, I'll work on hot-packing Cleo's "lump" and see if it seems to make any difference. If it doesn't, then I guess she'll be off to the vet (of course if I can't get this stupid drain cleared and I HAVE to call a plumber, I don't know how long it'll be before I can swing it. As it is, if I have to call a plumber, I'll have to see if DM can loan me enough to pay them....Grrrrrrr :mad::mad:

It's another 95+ degree day again today with the heat index over 100, so I'm going to have to keep DM's exposure to the heat as limited as possible....sure don't need her to have any problems on top of the ones I already have

Some days, life just sucks, you know? At least my China is being a (pretty) good girl

I'm glad China is being a good girl for you. I hope you can get your sink unclogged. Sending prayers for Cleo's lump. :bighug::bighug:

Do you have a drain snake? I don't think they cost very much at the hardware store. Maybe that's what you need. I remember my Dad doing that on our kitchen sink when I was growing up.

I'm glad China is more or less cooperating. The reason she went back on shore was to mind the lifeguard tower while Harvey took his turn in the water. They are getting to be a pretty good team!

Sending vines for Cleo and clog-be-gone vines for your sink!

I take it the baking soda/vinegar thing isn't working....? are you microwaving the water to make it as hot as you can.....

maybe Phantom has been visiting and dropping his toys in your drain.... he loves dipping his toys in water, y'know....

i have lots of issues with roots.... 100 ft away from our house.... so my plumber has me put salt down the drain every month
to kill the roots... they don't like it....

I take it the baking soda/vinegar thing isn't working....?

So far, nothing is working....tried BS and vinegar, blocking off the disposal side and plunging the other and finally did get both sides drained, but when I tried putting more water in, it clogged up again. I hate using chemicals but since it HAD just drained, I figured maybe I'd been able to bust up whatever is down there enough that some Liquid Plumber would take care of the rest, but that didn't work either

I bought a kitchen drain snake while I was out with DM but haven't felt like trying that yet...in the past, I haven't had much luck with snakes of any kind! (I've tried one years ago on a toilet but I didn't have the strength to be able to crank it and feed it into the pipe at the same time hard enough to do any good)

I didn't microwave the water though...just used really hot tap out of the bathtub...could that make a big difference?

And with that 103, we be outta here for tonight

The sauga of the plugged up kitchen drains is going to kill me off

Have a great night!!!!....and all you kitties surf savely!
