I visited with Katie today. She looks good. She has gained weight. She is ambulating fairly well, slowly. Her face is a little puffy but I assume that is due to some of the meds. She is now returning to the hospital at 2 week intervals. She said she tires easily. She has been out of the hospital a little more than a month so I told her I thought she needed to give her self a little more time to regain her strength. I think I mentioned before about the feathers braided into her hair because she was not allowed to have a bright red or green stripe. Well, she is having the feathers redone next week. She is progressing well considering all she has been through. I told her about all of the prayers and support she received from all of you and she filled up. She said to tell you all thank you again.

Such a fantastic outcome from a very poor prognosis.

Sending tons of healing vines, and positive thoughts for Katie. I'm wishing for her to make a full and speedy recovery so that she can leave the hospital permanently and be with her loved ones.

What a great whole person report!! That kid is an inspiration to all!! May she continue to improve!!
Hugs & Love from us!

Yes, it is great news. She is a very brave young woman.

Liz: She has gone out to the barn but she really is not supposed to until the wound is totally healed. That said, she visits her horse for a few and then leaves. She is anxious to be able to brush, feed, etc. That will happen.

I haven't been on FDMB long and just heard about Katie. So glad to hear that she is recovering so well and hope she gets to spend more time with her horse soon.

I am sorry I missed this when you posted it. How wonderful that you were able to go and visit. I remember the feathers story, and it is very cool that she is having them redone. What a remarkable story of recovery. Thanks for updating us all.
