Good Morning LL!!
(Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for business! They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese.
Best order early! The new pizza ovens are great, and so far... they been good pies! Lola and Bug say that they makes excellent nip crust. Mannie's tree house has become the new HQ for Paw Prints Pizza! WHAT FUN it was to have the Full Moon party in his treehouse! What a party! I soluved the Circle of remembrance, I gots to see and hear Mannie again. I am one happy Elsa girl this morning...
so. well. anyways.
Coffee time!! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espressos, with beans from Starbucks Pike Place Market, their original blend, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings. SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of mint and vanilla and cimmamum swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with peppermint chips and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Yesterday, like all Fridays, was very much a water day, what with swimming in the morning, and swimming again in the evening. BUSY!!!!  Swimming was as good as it always is. The energizer fishie was in his element, and continues to have a great time in the pool. I wrote this last week, but it continues to be true: That swim test continues to be elusive.... one of these days we will get that done! ;-) The guards are making an effort to come over and talk with him about his pool stuff, and he has started talking with them. So maybe as that improves he will be more comfortable working with them in a class environment. I've been teaching him what I can. My DD and I have decided that even if he won't take the test, we are ok with that, as he so loves this, and is doing so much more than most kids in lessons do. He continues to swim two, sometimes more, widths of the pool on his own again yesterday. Friday morning at the Lynnwood Pool was a very special day for Nicholas, as his dad and brother William came to swim too. We sure had fun yesterday. Nice time for Nicholas and his dad, they got to play pool for a long time together, almost 4 hours. No wonder he was so tired afterwards. Yesterday was crazy... we got there shy of 9:30, he swam/played the whole time, non-stop, until 1:30 or so. He loves it when his dad comes, as we stayed through the second session, which means the big tube slides and lazy river are open, and Jason takes him on those. Nicholas loves the big tube slides! Jason says after all was done: "damn i am tired". He was ready for a nap before the little guy was. haha. fun times. We still swim at the MLT pool, not his main pool, on Friday nights. That was as fun as always. It is amazing that Nicholas still had enough energy to swim there, but he did! He knew when he was done, and told me so. Smart kid! Wednesday's swim was also a good one, many many swims under the surface! He still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast too. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. Last night we again talked Mariners Baseball, as well as reliving his visit to the lake this week. Funny - out of the blue last night on the drive home the little guy says we haven't been to the Science center in a while, we should go and do that. cool, add it to the list this upcoming week. I still love that drive from the pool to his house: 30 minutes of little guy stories, my little back seat driver! Quite the imagination he has. He tells stories, we continue to look for rainbows and sunsets and views of Seattle, baseball and trains. Great drive home! AWESOME TIME!
Monday found me out hiking!
n That hike for me was nothing short of an adventure. I went to an area called White Chuck Bench. OMG etc.... Could not find that trailhead for the life of me. Directions seemed simple enough. Oh sure! One wrong turn and well, you are toast. Which is what happened to me. Spent close to an hour and half on every FSRoad there was in that area, still couldn't find it. Even ended up on one that was undoable, had to back out, which was not fun: a single very narrow road. NUTS! Anyways, after a bit I decided this sucked, it was already noon and back to the point of departure: Mtn Loop Hwy. Reread the directions and after much thought realized that the dumbass ('cuse me!) that wrtoe the directions wrote them in cumulative miles, not mileage form point to point. AIYEE! and LMAO. After that - found it with ease, I'd driven right past it when I got there. nothing like be 20 miles off your mark, again, another LMAO. The trail was nice - very woodsy. it is part of the Washington Trails Assn work party group and is being redone after a total washout back in 2003/4. It will be good when done. There was not much river access, which was disappointing, but maybe that will come with the part that isn't done yet, So... had fun, had a great adventure, and sometimes that alone makes the day worthwhile.HAHA: even was chased and "attacked" by a large bird (grouse maybe?) who was defending her babies. I had walked into her path. What a ruckus she made. So I stopped, let her gather her little ones, and be on her way before I moved. HAHA. That was fun. I drove all of the MTN Loop HWY home, 60 miles of awesomeness, loved that.
it was gorgeous there, with wonderful views and stopping points for the rivers.
Tuesday was my Seattle social day, and time to visit my friend over a cup of coffee.
I decided to go in early, since the weather was ok, and visit the Pike Place Market here in Seattle. I love the market - all local farmers, fishermen, etc, and such wonderful produce and fish! Hey kitties!! I even visited the cheese factory! Remember? The one where Mannie took you guys all the time. I see thy have installed a plaque near the cheese vats: "Mannie ad all his kitty friends APPROVED!"
We did make Juanita Beach Wednesday afternoon, after our morning swim. We did all of what he goes there for. Lots of play, and it was warm enough that he could swim in the water. He had such fun with that. all around - really a terrific day. I bet both those boys slept well that night. William ha also developed a fondness for it all, he just gets so excited when he sees the parks, the beaches, the rivers, He is so very much like his brother when he was that age. What was cool about this trip to the beach was that mom and and showed about about an hour before we had to leave. the boys were so excited to see them. It was nice that Erin and Jason could play with their kids at the beach, take some weekday time ad just come and enjoy it all. AWESOME!!
Thursday was our travel day, off to lake Padden in Bellingham. We had a great time at a place we haven't been too in a while. Boys seem to like the place, so maybe a return trip. Something different that the usual. No rains there either, managed a little sun too.
We found salmonberries too. Nicholas counted all he ate: 23 total, and even managed to pick several for William. it was so cute to see him give some to his brother before he ate his. ;-) William had a great time too. he got to play on the parts of the lake that had water access, managed to get into it too.  As is the norm now Nicholas spent time helping me pull William back out.    Fun times for everyone.
The drive there was awesome - I so love those road trips, and the Many Faces of Travel.
Thursday night found me at a thrash heavy metal gig in Seattle. My youngest son plays lead guitar in a band called Fallen Angels. They played an evening show, and for once it wasn't at midnight! LOL: I was home by 9:30, what a plus. the show was great!!! Matt plays lead guitar so well, it is a joy to listen to him play, even when it is heavy metal music. I've attached a video from one of the songs they did, there is another within the photo album. Should you want to hear any of the others, follow the links through YouTube. They are also posted on FB.

What to say about the three musketeers.... (photos from last week) They have been good kitties, and even Lola! Well sorta on Lola... Lola will always be Lola. Crazy fun Lola. I know I write this alot, but it all continues to be true: When I got home last night I watched the usual Friday night run and romp. That is so fun to watch, and so what goes down here on FR nights. Elsa just watches, trying to decide if she wants to run too. We have been, lately, getting her to join in on one of the romps. She runs once, maybe twice, chasing Bug down the hall. Not too bad for my senior gal.  This is about the only time I can ever get her to run like that. It is nice to see once in a while. There was nothing amiss when I got home, just kitties waiting at the top of the stairs. Just as it always is. LOVE THAT! Lola was rolling on the stairs, Bug was pacing, and Elsa was just sitting with that stare: where have you been? Definitely a normal Friday night for the kitties. I get a few meows, some leg rubs, they get scritches in return, and then off they go. The runs were endless last night. Lola has been fairly good, no plant issues, no torn papers, boxes remain intact. Today is shopping day so she will get a new paper bag.  No doubt that will make her day. She still tries SO HARD to get outside during our warmer days, she runs from window to window hoping maybe those screen have disappeared.  She continues too to pound on all glass and plastic surfaces. What a hoot. Still walking the railing and the frig door. Crazy fun Lola! Bug continues to warm up to company more and more as the days go by. Sure is nice to see that. Elsa is still dong well, darn active for an almost 18 year old. She continues to be a very good lap cat of late: nice! With the warm weather she has been out in the yard alot. Lola is SO JEALOUS!!, and lets me know it whenever she sees Big Sis out in the yard. It is interesting that Bug just doesn't seem to mind at all. He is more than content to be a house cat. Kitties are good, and All are sound asleep as I write this.... Stay good kitties! and no new news is GOOD NEWS! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Have a great day everyone! I am off to get those chores done, do my laundry, fill the kitty pantry, and try and relax some. It is a drizzly rainy morning here today, but I still hope to get out on a through the woods to the shore walk. YAHOO! Made it last weekend. It is so nice that the woods and the shore are as close as they are! The walks there have been great. There is alot to do today too to be ready for a father's day get together tomorrow. It looks like this will be a busy day.
