6/14 Jake AMPS 212

I will try to get some spot checks in tonight. I hope he does not go low again as he has done in past cycles. I'm giving him just over the 1.00 mark not quite to what I consider 1.25. He is also steadily losing weight which probably affects the BG. I'm syringe feeding in addition to his regular diet. The vet suspects maybe lymphoma but has not felt any masses. The only way to know for certain is to do a biopsy and there is NO way I am doing that. Jake is 19 and too frail to undergo that type of surgery. We've done xrays and blood tests and can't find anything definitive. I am thankful for every day that Jake is with me.

Nice AMPS today...was reading a few days back in your condo...how are the ear pricks going? I found that a cotton ball was too soft and so I use a folded tissue now and I can feel my finger on the other side...gives it a good base of prick. I use the lancet pen all the time though cause I think it gives a more consistent result. It's a matter of preference. But I hope the warming of his ears helped you....

Warming his ears does help. That is a good point about the cotton ball. I think I will try tissue tonight instead. Maybe I will give the lancet pen another try.
