I am very sad to say that Callie lost the fight. In case you don't remember us, Callie was diagnosed with FD in August of last year. With the help of this board, she was OTJ by December. After that, I checked her BG once a week. She was able to stay regulated with a low carb diet.

Last month she began to vomit at least once a day. Her BG was holding between 90-100. We took her to the vet several times and she only got a little better. They did lots of expensive tests and could find nothing but an elevated white blood count. They gave her 2 rounds of antibiotics and some anti-nausia medician. She was eating very little and vomiting often. Poor thing was waisting away. The vet finally decided to try exploratory surgery as a last resort. Callie had a hugh tumor in her stomach, cancer in her lungs, and in her intestines. We decided to have her put to sleep immediately to end her suffering.

I have testing supplies, needles, and Lantus to give away. I prefer to give them to someone in the Nashville, TN area. Kathy and Kitty were very helpful to us and I would love for them to have the supplies, if she still needs them.

So sorry for your loss.
Callie is in no more pain or suffering.
My condolences to you.

Judy, I am so very sorry to hear about sweet Callie. You took such good care of her during her life and now have given her the freedom from her suffering. That is the hardest thing for your heart, but a truly kind act of love for Callie.

I wish you much peace during this difficult time.
((((Hugs to you))))

Hi Judy,
I am so very sorry to hear about Callie. Such a beautiful girl. You gave her so much love and always wanted to do the best thing for her...it was evident in your posting. I hope you can have a small (or large) peace of mind knowing that you were a great momma to her. This must be so sad for you ((((((Judy)))))). May the healing process be gentle, and the bond you two shared never be broken.

(((Judy))) I am so sorry to hear of your loss....and that is very generous of you to want to share your supplies. there must be someone who would be thrilled to receive them. My heart goes out to you in this though...it is so very sad to have to say goodbye. May your memories of your time together be a source of comfort to you until you meet again....
