Good Morning everyone!
Tessie Lou, TJ and I are sitting on the screen porch, watching a storm come in. I LOVE a storm--it's getting dark, the air is cool, you can smell the rain that's about to fall. Reminds me of many camping trips huddled in a tent in the rain in the middle of nature. There's that little element of danger that adds to the "magic" of it all...
Well, anyway, this morning I decided to cancel Tessie's vet appt for today, and instead am going to call the vet and ask if it is even necessary to bring her in for another exam before doing a biopsy. What's the point? The growth has not changed after 2 weeks of ABs. If the biopsy does show mammary cancer, there is very little that can be done other than make her comfortable. I have been in touch with one FDMB member who's been through it, and chemo was not advised for the little time it bought. Vet has already said surgical removal would only spread the cancer. So, there's no big rush to get it done.
Then, to top it all off, they have closed my main route to the vet because of the impending flood waters expecting to wash out parts of the interstate here. That means another 20 miles out of the way, and another 30 minutes of driving time. And with her low AMPS this morning, we're just going to stay home and monitor her numbers.
Well, that's my day so far! Better run, my laptop's getting a few rain drops on it!
Have a good day, all!
