Good morning, LL!
Sending vines and hugs to Mariko & Lucy, Wendy & Tiggy, Rachel & Chyna, Georgia & Simon, Kathie & Zeus, and Nancy & Pepper.

Ripley is doing great today.
Most Ps are in place, good appy, and tearing up paper (that's our 8th "P" ~or maybe 9th ~ lost count. Tears up paper/magazines/mail/newspaper to show me that she's hungry AND I'm taking to long preparing her fuds; sometimes she also chews on houseplants, door frames, her rocking chair ~ all while looking at me.  Poor baby...  ).

Thanks for the visits yesterday afternoon/last night Carla, Kat, and Amy! :-D
I wasn't able to post info on the second-half of yesterday: a med. appt. ran late, I got home JUST in time to T/F/S Ripley and give fluids, then I ran out the door for a dinner & play date with a friend. I didn't have time to give R her pre-meal Pepcid treat. I need to ask my DH today if he noticed any signs of acid tummy last night... She seems perfectly OK today. Needless to say, yesterday and last night there were minimal tests; I wanted to catch a +6 or +7 last night, but failed to set my alarm. Oh well...

OT: Today we have our annual Father's Day Luau at my school. It's such a sweet event. The dads bring beach towels, and have a little picnic on our playground with their kiddos. There'll be leis, Hawaiian music, grass skirts, Hawaiian decorations... so fun! At the end the kiddos sing a song called "Mahalo." I'll try not to cry... :-D

Hi Josie! 9th P--ha ha  Sounds like she's a little tyrant and her little belly needs mommy's attention--like "right now"! Don't sweat failing to set your alarm--I've been know TO set the alarm and think it hasn't went off, however, DH said it DID go off and I shut if off!! Have a wonderful day and enjoy the tears of happiness! I hope Ripley is on the mend and I sending vines....

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88

Morning Josie,

I can just picture Ripley in action, trying to get your attention and his fud!!! Glad you had a nice time out last night, and hoping not too many tears today (although I bet it will be hard). Keep surfin' safely Ripley!

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88

LOL on the 8th P! Trix does something similar with our cardboard scratching pads. Her previous owners declawed her ( ), so since she can't make a shredded mess with her little toes, she does it with her teeth! She rips up a chunk, shakes her head to send it flying, and repeats, until she's surround by scratching pad shards    !

Very nice start for Ripley! Have a great day, Josie!!

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88

Oh my, Ripley is a busy girl:) That's an awesome AMPS! Chyna is home now and we both wanted to say hello and have a good day!

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88

Morning,
That's so cute how Ripley tells you "I'm WAITING! and i'm watching you.. how can you possibly be so slow?"
I'm glad you got to sneak in a play date last night. Those times are important!
I bet the Father's Day Luau is a huge success. I hope you have a tissue in your pocket. Wish we could see pictures and hear their song.
have a great day

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88

Hi Josie. Hope Ripley's tummy isn't upset. Ripley sounds like she might be a new breed..a cross between a cat and a goat . Best not let any dollar bills laying around .

The father's day luau sounds fun. I'm sure the dads will enjoy it. Have a great day.

Nice start for Ripley this morning.

Tears up paper/magazines/mail/newspaper to show me that she's hungry AND I'm taking to long preparing her fuds; sometimes she also chews on houseplants, door frames, her rocking chair ~ all while looking at me.  Poor baby...
Isn't it funny the things our kitties will do to get our attention.

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88, +9 130

Thanks soooo much for the visits today! :-D :-D :-D

This +9 is the highest non-preshot number I've seen in a while (about a month I think). I wonder if Ripley got into some contraband (maybe dog kibble?). If it's a pattern there may be a drop added to her dose. We'll see what the next couple of cycles look like...

She's not happy that I'm typing on the computer rather than giving her attention. She's letting me know by -- you guessed it -- chewing on paper. Gotta go and pet my girl!

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88, +9 130

Hi Josie, your condo cracks me up with the 8th "P" being the shredding paper by Ripley to get your attention. I would love to see a video. Of ouse, just when you get set up, they're done with their cute acts.
The Father's Day Luau sounds so adorable and teary I'm sure.

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88, +9 130, +11 94

Well, I spoke with my DH ~ Ripley did indeed eat some of Marley's kibbles this morning, at about +1 or so. He's not sure how many, but she was snacking for a few minutes before he caught her :-x . I wonder how high she got today!
Looks like she's coming down into her normal range at this time; I hope I don't have to worry about shooting a dropping number (when that dropping number is due to kibbles leaving her system).
I'm bummed she raided the dog food, but so glad her numbers-boost is not due to a failed decrease (whew!).

Hi, Ann :-D That's funny, just this morning I thought I should try to get her paper-eating antics on video... I'd love to capture the moment she stops and looks at me (to make sure I'm indeed watching her) with a bit of torn paper hanging out of her mouth.

Re: 6/13 Ripley AMPS 88, +9 130, +11 94

Hi, Josie!
Thank you so much for your vines and hugs for Lucy and me.
It must be working because she is feeling much better today!

Nice number for Ripley!
That's so cute how Ripley shreds papers while you prepare her food.
So she is an acid tummy girl too...
I'm surprised that so many people seem to give Pepcid to their cats and yet my vets never suggested it even though I mentioned a few times about Lucy vomiting stomach acid before meal.....
My vets are good vets and I like them.... maybe because Lucy always had other issues that has higher priority....
Thanks for the tip about the Pepcid treat, by the way!

I hope you had a great day today!

If you were to ask Ripley how her day was today, I'm sure she'd tell you how GREAT it was being able snack on dog kibble all day.
She got pretty demanding for her dinner tonight ~ there are even MORE paper shreds on the floor now, and when that didn't work to get fed early, she moved on to her catnip toys. Then back to paper ~ back and forth between toys and paper until dinner time. She was cracking me up tonight! Maybe kibble makes her feel more spunky... When my DH got home (about 5 mins. before Ripley's dinner time), she sat on her rocking chair and told him "thank you" for not monitoring the kibble today; then she proceeded to squawk about how mean I was for making her starve tonight.

It's nice to see her feeling so good.

Hi, Mariko :-D I'm glad Lucy is feeling better! My vet didn't know about Pepcid, either. Or FD.Or giving sub-qs at home... Thank goodness for the FDMB and Lantus Land!

So glad to know Ripley had a great day.
It's always nice to hear a story about a kitty feeling good!

Hi Josie! Thanks for the hugs and vines! Ripley sounds too cute shredding paper while looking at you to make sure you know exactly why she's doing it!

Such a sassy cat...a sassy squawker!  Normally, Shasta would find the one paper item and start to shred it, but now that I've hid all that, she goes to her scratching post...makes sure I'm watching...and starts EATING the little bits of rope that are hanging off the post. They are SUCH BRATS!!!!! Lovely numbers for Miss Ripley...even with the doggie contraband. Have a great night, Josie!
