Morning! I kinda fell off the meter wagon and wanted to see the difference in the two meters, he, he! Maggie is green with my back-up meter! Everyone keeps telling me we need to see some green, and I am really green many times if I would be using the human meter. :mrgreen: I just tried a different flavor of Special Kitty (Super Supper). It went over well with Maggie, especially all the broth. I hope these are okay to feed as not that many of you seem to use this brand. Maggie is so picky; she started nit picking with the Special Kitty Chicken flavor. I wish she would eat Wellness or Merrick, but she just walks away and gives me that stare. I am going to try some boiled chicken as soon as I get to the store today. Sorry I missed some late night visits; I fell asleep early with those donut hours I kept yesterday. Thanks Binksy (Hi ya Binksy), Michelle, Marj, Roni, Pat & Shadow and Patty & Champ for the visit.

Why don't you change the rules on your spreadsheet to change the range so it shows green when she is green on a human meter?

Hi Karrie, I thought about it and Christie also mentioned it, and thanks for the suggestion. But I did a comparison of the Relion and the ATrak, and it's not always the consistent with the 25-30 points variance. Sometimes there can be a differencce of 49 points and other times like today, it is 23 points difference. I don't really want to use the two meters daily. I just once in a while do a comparison. I E-mail the SS to my Vet weekly, as he's very interested (and he wasn't pro-hometesting before). The ATrak is close to their meters. I did try the Relion only at one time, and I just couldn't get used to the difference myself, so back to the ATrak for me. I have so much data on the Atrak, too.

Maggie is looking good, hope the new food is okay and her BG agrees with it.

I think that is you like the ATrak, and your vet is happy with it, then why change? It sounds like it works best for you. Always a good thing.

There a few others who feed Special Kitty, but I sure can't remember who they are.... :roll: If she likes it, it is low carb, I don't see the harm. I hope she likes the chicken - Mannie just loves it when he gets boiled chicken.

Hi guys .. We use special kitty with mocha .. but we use the turkey and giblets flavor .. mocha loves it .. probably cause it is not good for her :lol: Have a great day guys!

Good! Maggie will sleep and surf the morning away, so I can get an early start. I have to pick up a few things for my neighbor, too, as well as a lot of other stuff to do!

Hi Michelle, I know (re: Pat). I guess she missed this one...I was waiting! Yes, I do like it as I have so much data, and it's nice my Vet is so interested, It's just once in a while I like to do a comparison. I gave Maggie a teeny piece of grilled Kentucky Fried chicken, and she liked it, but it still probably has too much salt.

Hi Devon, oh great, another Special Kitty lover with Mocha! I saw turkey & giblets, but have not tried it yet. Maggie loves that they have so much juice. She doesn't have many teeth left.

What nice numbers for Maggie! Good luck on the food dilemna. It took me forever to find some Tarragon would eat and I am holding my breath that he doesn't get sick of it soon. He too is a picky eater. He was also a very dry addicted cat. When I pick up a container of my dogs bones and it makes that rattle noise, Tarragon still comes flying in the room thinking it is dry food for him,.

Ouch!! No more Special Kitty Super Supper Dinner for Maggie. Back to Chicken & tuna and FF Seafood Feast. This was the first day trying the new one!

Hi Melissa, thanks for stopping by today. Maggie is also a dry food addict. I keep a bag of dry Veterinary DM Purina food just for when she gets too low. She does the same thing as Tarragon - when that bag rattles, her eyes get so big and she starts begging. It's a shame they can't come up with a dry food that wouldn't raise their bg!

Maggie didn't stay up there very long! She usually doesn't bounce, so I wonder if the 194 bg was a misread! I didn't think to take it twice! Now she's sticking her nose up at the Special Kitty Chicken & Tuna and is looking for the Super Supper! I think the Super supper is what raised her bg.
 
Ann, that was a big food spike! I agree, I'd nix that one for sure! Now at +3, things are looking nice! Have a good evening,

ouch on the food spike with super supper... aiyee, back to the others. I can see the look of elation on her face when she got her kentucky fried. :cool: Mannie just loves chicken that is prepped that way. I know on the salt.... sure does taste good though.
