Well, except for the Pre-shots, China's spending almost all her time down at the lagoon! :D:D:D She takes her job as Deputy LagoonMistress very seriously!

Keep it up China! You're making your mamabean very happy!

I swear I think I'm going to have to start working on an Ark soon....we've had a LOT of rain in the past month and today when I was out with DM, the heaven's opened up on us again and it just poured on us! Had stopped at McDonalds to buy her a burger for lunch and it was raining so hard when we got back to the apartment building that we had to sit in the car for almost 20 minutes before we decided we were just going to have to make a run for it...by the time we got inside, we were both soaked to the skin!

Between her apartment building and my house is the only intersection in town with a light, and it has all the drains in that area too and it was totally underwater. Had to go very slowly just to get through it so I could get home..it was probably a foot of water

Hope you've all had a great Caturday!

Sounds like you had fun out on the town today...........be careful going through water like that........we have people swept away in their cars often doing just that when we have heavy rain/ floods! It happens more often near creeks etc but flooding water is so unpredictable. Sounds like the rain was so heavy the drainage system couldn't cope with the volume of water.
Great to see China doing so well with all those green numbers. Go China :D

Yo China. Lookin' very nice in your green dress!Cuz Michael:cat:
Sorry about the bad weather and getting soaked. Glad you got home safely.
If you don't mind, could you send some of that rain to California. We really need it.:)

I was thinking like Bron when you said you drove through the water, my heart went into my throat after the recent deaths here. So glad you made it home safe, albeit wet!

China you are setting a shining example for the other kitties, keep up the great work :D

Don't worry....the flooding at the intersection isn't like a river flooding...it's just because all 4 drainage ditches dump into the same place, and when it's raining as much as it did today, the drainage ditches just can't keep up....there's no "current", just a lot of water

I'd never try going across deep water with a current...heard of too many people drowning that way.

OK now China...with all this water-talk, I'm happy you're back in the lagoon, but let's see you surf!!

@rhiannon and shadow, you have just given me an idea for a way to earn some extra money! I have a ton of those things, with all the online shopping I do. I could paint some little mousies and fishies and stuff on them and sell them as kitty water wings!! Eureka!!

China, thank you for picking up the slack at the lagoon while Cinco is on shore leave. We're trying to get him back down there, don't worry. He misses splashing around with you and the gang.

Chris, I second Paula's request that you ship some of that rain west to us. Thing are getting quite ridiculous with water use restrictions, neighbors tattling on neighbors, brown lawns and fires starting everywhere. We need some of that wet stuff!

Growing up in Arizona, flooded intersections and underpasses were a way of life in the summer. The intersections were only dangerous to the engine if you drove in and it got your distributor wet. The underpasses all had rulers up the side, to show the depth of the water. It never fails - at least once a year some yahoo has to be towed out because they didn't believe the water was really that deep and tried to drive through it! They've built bridges over most of the wash (drive riverbed) crossings now, but it used to be pretty normal to have someone swept away because they tried to drive across at just the wrong moment. Those washes would be dry one moment, and because it wasn't raining there, people would go ahead and cross, but it was raining in the mountains, and down would come the water, all of a sudden. Pretty scary stuff. I'm glad your worst consequence was getting wet.
