Checkers is not eating well today. Maybe all that red and black yesterday and last night, took a toll on him.
It's a new day tho, and he's coming down. I have to leave him for a couple of hours this afternoon, not nearly as long as yesterday.
I suspect he dropped low, yesterday, even with the hc I left out; I don't know who ate it.

I need to hunt out lower phos foods, as I just found from Dr Lisa's chart, that some of the ones he doesn't hate, are the highest. He loves nothing! :YMSIGH:

Nasty weather yet again. We had one day of sun yesterday. My yard is a jungle, and too wet to mow.

I can very much relate to the high phosphorus problem. Mine quit eating the friskies T&G and is actually running away from it when I try. :YMSIGH:

Have you tried any of the nature's variety instinct canned? phosphorus is the number at the end.....

I know you have a hard time finding some of the brands.

Thank you Rhiannon, I can't get Nature's Variety around here, that's why I always end up with FancyFeast.
I can get Wellness, but he won't eat it. He loved the PawLickin Chicken, the first time, and I bought a case, then wasted half of it, as he licked only the juice. I tried chopping, cutting, pulverizing the shreds....just would not touch it again.
I'm sick of throwing food away.
The farm store where I used to get Merrick doesn't carry it anymore. Guess it didn't sell.
I live too far from pet stores and have access only to supermarkets.

Back later to check kitty condos.

I understand on trying to find the foods, my little town stocks nothing in the right lower carb and phosphorus levels, I have to order food online :roll: I found a few good places that ship individual cans...but they're in Canada so I guess that won't help you much. I hope you can find something that Checkers likes :smile:

Whoa! Slow down Checks! there are so few foods that are low in both phos and carbs. I think you mentioned everything I've tried except the raw NV, and that is even harder to get than the canned. Or what about EVO? They have had recalls on their dry food but the canned seem to be OK. Tess isn't fond of it though and i hear you on finding something they seem to like, UNTIL you buy a cse of it! ohmygod_smile

Hi Barb. Checkers made a nice slide into the blue zone. Hopefully he's feeling better and is planning on surfing.

Too bad about your weather...as for the grass - have you considered purchasing a goat? :lol:

Whoa, Checkers, that is one impressive slide! Zener couldn't do any better. The food search is frustrating. I second Rhiannon - we'll trade weather with you for a bit too.

Hey thanks Rhiannon. I'm going to call the vet clinic that's there. Another vet used to sell EVO, but no longer. :sad:
If Susan ever lets me off the phone. I think she has a camera watching for when I get on the 'puter :YMSIGH:

Turns his nose up at anything else.

Melissa, FF Chicken is one he doesn't hate. I have to go back and look at the phos chart again.

I've decided to stop griping about our rain and cool weather, after watching the horrible fires in Colorado. :sad:
We have it so good, compared to western states.
 
Hi Barb, stopping by to get my Checkers fix. :-D Nice slide today. Good luck on the fuds search. I finally ordered online and got the right Wellness Turkey for Mags. I hope you can find something with the lower phosphorus and carbs and that Checkers also likes.
