This is unofficial day 11 without insulin.
Checkers seems to favor that morning number. He's eating as well as he ever did. I wouldn't mind a little weight on him, but he never was a hearty eater....well, not wet food anyway.

OT: I'm getting staples removed today. I feel a bit like Frankenstein's monster. Twenty two of the suckers in my back.
Maybe Susan will feel sorry for me, and treat me to lunch. :-D

And it sounds like your getting better and gettin back to business. I agree Susan should take her momma out for lunch. Good luck with the staple removal today Barb. (And I'm sure you look nothing like Frankenstein).

I can't believe Checkers numbers! Why is it still unofficial? It is still very impressive.

Hope your dr appt goes well. Don't overdo it!!

Still looking really good for Checks. Get those numbers down a little more Checkers and they will let you be "official"! :-D :-D

'Unofficial' because we sort of slid into this otj trial. It was to be temporary while I was in hospital.
However, he responded so well to being off insulin, that to put him back on, would be to let him sniff the vial.

He does not get the green preshots, that the protocol seems to call for, therefore, I am not making any announcements of OTJ.
I hope it's okay that we are still part of the community, even tho we are doing it slightly different. After all, I am not sure how long this will last.
I know others like the lower greens, to be officially off insulin, but in the meantime, I am very very happy with his progress.

Ok, official or not... I think we should be prepared for the best outcome and with that in mind.....

If Checkers needs a little more time, that's fine, we will be ready when he is ready.
And I'm pretty sure it will be SOON!

Checks is doing so well!!! And you're going to feel so much better once the staples are removed (my mom and sister both recently had back surgeries). I hope everything continues to run smoothly with Checkers and with you!! :-D
 
What does it matter if it is "official" or not? It's GREAT!! And you'd better get those pics to CD, Barb!

So glad to hear that you got your staples out and hope that you will have a lovely evening. Don't overdo it!

This is super cool & as you have said many times.. who cares about greens.. you are happy with healthy blues in normal range! Checks is looking great! Happy you are healing & am looking forward to you sending pics to CD!

I too am glad that the staples come out - YAY!! That must be a huge sigh of relief, plus feel better! I hope you got lunch. :-D
