Morning, everyone! Happy Caturday!

I was a bad bean and didn't wake up for PMPS+9 this morning. I did set the autofeeder, but judging by the amount Ellie ate at amps (not much!) I'm guessing it wasn't Vesta who took advantage. Darn it. Confirmed by the high(er) amps.

Good afternoon, all! Got home from work today and the autofeeders were empty, good times. Vesta's nice #s at +10 prolly mean she even ate it, too :)

I stopped at PetSmart on the way home to use some of my FF coupons combined with the PetSmart Friends and Family 15% discount. Awesome price- after the Walmart price match, $1 off 24 coupon, and the 15% off, they were 22c per can :) I didn't have all my $1 off coupons or I would have hit that even harder! Feeding both the kitties for $1.10 per day is not bad... not bad at all.

I also grabbed some Sophisticat to treat Vesta and Ellie. I remember the mixed grill was really low carb. Just checked the J&B's sheets- could it really be 0%???? I did notice the WAAAAY high fat content, so that won't be making a regular rotation, but it's nice every so often.

I guess I need to go to PetSmart tomorrow, I have a zillion of those coupons and with 4 kitties to feed now (and one very unregulated) it's expensive!

Vesta is doing fantastic.

Re: 6/12 Vesta AMPS~123 +2~77 +10~75

thank you! That's a really good deal.

I was chatting with Jill earlier. Today's higher AMPS looks like it was just because of the missed +9 feeding. Vesta came down great after that. All of her other numbers have looked much better since you added that feeding in.

So..... what do you think about starting an OTJ trial?

We think she is ready. Feed the +9 feeding tonight, and if she's green in the morning, then don't shoot. Multiple small meals are easier on the pancreas, so keep splitting the meals up (you might want to spread them out differently than you are now, since there won't be insulin on board, you can experiment with that). Most people test at their normal AM and PM time. If she's green, no worries, go on about your day. If she is blue, feed a small meal and test again in 3-4 hours to see if she brought herself down with food.

Good luck with the trial!

Vesta's SS is looking very, very green! When she doesn't get that +9 snack, you can see the response.

Ummmmm..... WOW!!! I think Lucy talked to Vesta at the New Moon party and got her all excited. Momma and poppa bean are just scared now! Weird, huh? We've been waiting for this to happen.... and now we're too scared to do it!

Noone will be home tomorrow from amps+2.5 through +10 or so. I'm heading to the Ojai Wine Festival (wooooohoo!) and Scott's working. Do you think that'll be a problem for OTJ Trial Day 1, provided her am #s are ok (antijinx)? Otherwise, I'll be home all day Monday and can make sure she's at least snacking at even intervals. The autofeeders are great, but don't guarantee which cat snacks.

Can you believe we're trying to talk ourselves OUT of this? nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile

I believe you, when Lucy was going OTJ Jill had to threaten to send somebody over to steal my Lantus so I would stop shooting.

No problem being out tomorrow, you won't have to worry because she won't have insulin in her system. Do the best you can with food, it's time to get used to having a more carefree lifestyle again.

don't you like the way that sounds?

Okaaaaay.... If you guys say so......

I'm getting up at 4am to do our +9 business, then we'll see what we see at AMPS (AMBG?). If it's green we're starting OTJ, if it's blue, we'll wait another day. nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile

Ooooh, one more question. We need to get Vesta (and Ellie) a dental. Never had one, and at 9 1/2 yrs, I'm guessing it's due. With the OTJ looming, when's the best time to do that? While still On TJ, or a little bit after OTJ to stabilize her?

Oh, I am soooo happy for you guys! I think your SS is just lovely and was thinking it was close to party time for Vesta also! Maui and Crash are planning a BIG bash!!!!! GO VESTA!!!!!
