Tugger is really doing well! I am consistently thrilled with his numbers and he is just really doing well overall =) His fur is so soft now that he's been bathed, though I may have to do it on a monthly basis to maintain till or unless he looses weight and can bathe himself. He's still playful and frisky, still ignoring the water bowl. I'm seriously thinking of removing the one in the kitchen. We have two others for the dogs, which get washed and refilled no less than four times a day. The cats can get to both of them easily and the one in the kitchen is just a fur collector anyway. I think it's gone today really.

Brady will be here in one week! He flies out on Friday, he will spend the night with Venita and then he will travel south along the same route and with the same people who took Bean north to Jenn =) Hubby will not be out to sea or at work that day so I'm going to let him drive me up to meet Brady so I can focus on the kitty on the ride home cat_pet_icon

According to his vet records he has a broken canine that we will be needing to take care of pretty soon. Venita (angel that she is!) is doing some fundraising for that and I am extremely grateful because I wasn't really ready for a dental visit you know? nailbite_smile

Otherwise though, Brady seems to be in great shape. I gather his URI is cleared up, which is another thing I am very grateful for! I was not looking forward to having to keep him isolated till he recovered from that. Usually when we bring new kitties in, we give 'em a day to relax in quiet then either they sneak out or someone sneaks in. This will make things easier for everyone =) If he needs more quiet time, he can certainly have it and we'll run the others off if they come pestering but usually the new ones just want overnight and then they want to check out the new digs and occupants. I am assuming Brady is very well socialized and won't appreciate being locked away alone for long. I guess we'll see in a week :-D

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Tugger so wonderful to hear you are still doing fantastic   Brady is getting such a great home I wonder if your vet will just saw the canine and put sealer on it I have a cat here that has that I guess it just can depend on the tooth but I have a young aby (5) who chipped hers last year well broke it really and it ended up being sawed do not know how else to describe it since its a dental saw and then a sealer I have to kept a eye on it to make sure its stays healthy looking. Its been a year and so far its good to go but my vet felt it was better to leave it then to pull it but I know all vets are sure different. Hope he fits in well with your crew

Well, it is a pretty great place ;-)

Brady is a prior street kitty who has been living in a no-kill shelter in Louisiana for three years. He's a big boy (24 pounds) who was once about ten pounds heavier than he is currently. He's got mobility issues, arthritis, and now dental problems so he was pretty much a lifer there. I saw his picture and the video on his DCIN page... What was I supposed to do? Hubby got his drooler so I got to get my FD kitty  I did have to promise to close the doors to further intakes for the foreseeable future though...

Lisa, if I remember correctly, his tooth is broken near the gum line. Not sure if that makes a difference in how it will be treated. I hope we can get that fixed for him soon, we'll be starting him on Lantus of course and getting him on a proper diet. I really don't even know what his numbers look like right now so we're just going to start fresh. I hope the fresh start and the dental will put him on a road to regulation... or better

I am really praying they all get along well! I think it will be fine though. Brady is used to dealing with kitties at his shelter, he had free run of the place during business hours I gather. So he's got plenty of experience with cat interactions.

Bella did as well and there was very little issue with her moving in (though Tux hates her just on principle I think but they generally agree to give each other space so it's not a problem) but Echo was a harder sell. He was so young he didn't really know catspeak and being blind can't read body language so it was harder but that's mostly worked out too. Tux is the holdout there too. He just hates other cats. I think he likes Tugger and BB, they are the Original Three and have been together since they were 9 weeks old or so but his love stops there. Brady is a big boy though and I'm pretty sure Tux won't screw around with a bigger cat... Brady's pic sure makes him look like he won't take crap from anyone... I bet he just exudes confident-tough-guy vibes ;-) It will be interesting to watch it unfold that's for sure. I have no idea how Tugger is going to react...

Hi Marvie. Great number for Tugger today. Stu can't wait to see him at the full-moon party tonight.
I finally got to see Brady's video on Venita's post in Community. He is certainly enormous!! I hope that his tooth will be an easy fix and that the contributions to DCIN will cover his dental costs. It will be so great to read your posts every day again. Good luck with the transport!
