OK so today I am starting over with Trey because he ate at 7am and will not get his shot till 9am..... We will be off track to start I bet . Just not thinking right should have tested before he ate I bet .....ok where do I go from here will not be home a good part of day still have company LOL Kath

good morning Kath,
OK first question is what dose will you be giving at 9am?

Test just before 9am, then you can give him more food if he likes and also give him his shot at 9am.
Leave lots of food out for Trey to eat during the day; cats will eat when they need to so don't worry about that.

I give my cats shots at 6am, so I get their foods ready at 545am, then at 6am, I test them and then put down the prepared foods, and then get their shots ready and shoot while they are eating.

I leave for work shortly after that time, and am often gone till close to 6pm so I have to just leave food out for them to eat while I am working.

You can do something similar.
Test at 9am, then give Trey his shot, put down foods for the day and then off you go. Make sure that you post Trey's 9am ps test result and also what dose you shot. That way, others can add replies to you in here.

OK Thanks I will be in and out today. Will be giving 2 units at 9am wish I could get back to 7am or closer how do I get back to this time for his shot Do I do it like 15 minutes earlier at a time or something like that He came and is sitting on his spot to be tested at about 7:45 it is like did you forget something Hello!!! LOL Kath

I'm not quite awake enough yet -- great idea on the 2u. We can get you back to your schedule -- be back after more coffee.

Kath,
When he comes to be tested, you are seeing a sign that he's settling in to a routine of testing and does not mind and I bet is starting to feel a bit better inside. Be happy with that sign!

As for moving back to your 7am time, that's not a problem as everyone does that all the time. Remember that when it's time change, we all have to do a shuffle of 15min every shot for 2 days until we get to our old shot time. Spring forward, fall back. Twice a year it happens.
I think, depending on Trey's numbers, it should be easy to set a plan to move the shots back each time 15min or a bit more, depending on his numbers, until you get back to your preferred 7am but remember ... if you are going to shoot tonite at 845pm, then no foods after 645pm, right? Keep to that 2hrs before shot with no foods and you will get a pure and true BG number at pre shot time.

I checked your ss and you have not put his numbers for today, but wanted to remind you to update your ss before you head out the door so others can check your ss and leave you replies and info for you to see on your return. What would be great is if you were able to take a few tests when you stop back home through the day, each time putting the number into your ss. That way, by tonite, people will have seen how Trey was doing during the day and can comment on his numbers and his dose tonite.

...or if you don't have time to update SS right away, list the numbers here.

We look at the numbers constantly.

Trey tested 283BG @ 9am got his 2 units he ate at 7pm will feed supper at 4:30 so we can test and give shot at 8:45pm and 2 units... Trey is back to his old self was in bed at 6 trying to get me up he has not done that in 3 days He is bright and alert where before he seem to want to keep to himself Maybe just me because I am happier that he is only getting 2 units any way Will drop back later thanks Kath

Kath,

Glad that Trey is feeling better. I see hes starting to show you that he knows the routine. Cats like routine.

You'll be back to your regular shot time before you know it. It sounds like your feeling less stress and that means so is Trey. Things will get even easier, you'll see.

Have a nice weekend with your company.

jan and sara

Kath,
Now your last post was a perfect update - it's so good to hear how Trey is doing and especially relieving to hear that he is coming around to his old self again.

Yeah, you may find that the 2unit dose fits him just fine, but remember, no messing around if a number from a test is a bit up or a bit down. Just stick to that 2unit dose for a couple days and let Trey get used to that same amount.

I bet in a very short time, you are not going to remember test times or shot times because Trey will be reminding you!

I hope you have a great day and Trey has a good day too.

Hi Kath, sounds like you have things planned and under control, doesn't it feel wonderful? Trey sounds like he's doing well too. What a great job for both of you!

YaY Kath and Trey! Great report this morning. He was reminding you that something was off in the regular routine, He will continue to feel better and so will you. (((hugs)))

Hello all Trey had a great day Just did a PMPS 8:45pm he tested 245BG he got 2 units at this time . Had his tuna and loves us again. He must have got up on the table when we have been testing him at least 5 times in about 2 hours I keep telling him it is not time yet after ok. He would get down go and be nosey for a bit and he has not been nosey as to go look into a bucket to see what was there. This is our old Trey of years ago I see such a different cat. I am so glad I am going with my gut feeling finally Thank you all still got company but had to let you know Happy days ahead Fingers crossed  ~O)

hey Kath!

you got the 245 on yesterdays line in your spreadsheet, you'll want to move it to the PMPS cell for todays date, not the +11.

doing great and glad to hear Trey is well.
if you're up for it, try to get at least one test in tonight ok? +3 would be ok or before bedtime.

have a good nite :-D

Good to hear that the old Trey is back and he is feeling better and getting used to the new routine.

this is a great condo today, it's so good to read that Trey is acting like his old self and that he loves his new routine. I like the plan to stay with 2 units for a few days to see how it does when it settles in.

it's such a relief and joy when you see your sick kitty happy again and back to his old self. I'm so happy for you Kath, keep up the good work.
