Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=148 (0.75u); +2=151; +8.75=155
PMPS=155 (0.75u); +2.25=133; +4.25=144; +9.25=137

Today
AMPS=117 (0.75u); +2=160; +8.5=160
PMPS=203 (0.75u); +2=173

Lucy was feeling fine and came to wake me up, and then started eating the 1st breakfast really well though finger-feeding.
About half way through, she lost interest, and ate the rest in a leave it or take it attitude.
Her 1st meal is about half of her entire portion, and 2nd and 3rd are half of what's left, so quarter of entire portion.
The 1st meal is the biggest because that's when her appetite is the best.
If I spread the portion into 1/3 evenly, I worry that I may not be able to get her to eat enough because she often doesn't finish 2nd and 3rd meal.

This weekend, I am going to try reducing the amount of 1st meal, to see if that's easier for her tummy.
If she doesn't feel bad after eating the 1st meal, she may be more inclined to continue eating the 2nd and 3rd.
I don't think it would work, because that's what I used to do when I started split-feeding and it was just as hard to get her to eat the 2nd and 3rd.
But I'm going to try anyway.....

I'm also thinking about trying some prebiotic and/or digestive enzyme.
But her new custom formulated foods will be ready soon - probably next week, so I may want to try that first.

Sending vines to all in need.
Getting closer to weekend.... hang in there everyone!

Very nice start for the day, Lucy. Keep up the good work and surf well! Good luck with the fuds portions, Mariko. This is an ever changing dynamic for us. Have a good day, Mariko!

Re: 6/12 Lucy AMPS=117;+2=160

I am hoping her custom foods will be better for her. Making the first meal smaller might help as well. Keeping Lucy in my thoughts and prayers. Is her weight stable?

Adjusting her portions may work...you never know. Hopefully she'll love her new, custom food!

Have a great evening, Mariko!

Re: 6/12 Lucy PMPS=203

This evening, I switched her food from Wellness Turkey 3.5oz to 5oz.
I think that 5oz is somehow less dense than 3.5oz.
Maybe her tummy does better with softer texture.

The new diet was delivered to the vet today, and I picked them up.
I want to start adding the new food this weekend, so I won't change the insulin dose for a while.
Otherwise I will not know what's doing what.
I need to first figure out how I want to do this.
I'll do it slowly for sure, so I have to plan how much of Wellness and how much of new food to offer.
Well, if she eats it, that is.
I hope so.... I didn't ask for the estimate, so I found out the price today when I picked them up.
They are expensive.
When the receptionist told me how much, one of the vet tech who happened to be around inhaled sharply and joked "Is there a new kidney in there?" :lol:
It might not be too bad... I haven't calculated the cost per day. I haven't counted how many servings are in the box (minimum order).

How interesting that you are getting custom made food for Lucy. I've never heard of that. I'll be watching to see how she likes it.

I'm glad she's feeling well. Sending good appy vines! Eat, little Lucy!

Re: 6/12 Lucy PMPS=203

I hope Lucy eats her new food with enthusiasm. Kangaroo always gets two paws up here. :-D But even as raw food it's more expensive than chicken or turkey.

Good plan not to change anything else and just slowly do the food change so you can see how it impacts her numbers.

Re: 6/12 Lucy PMPS=203

I hope she likes the new food and that it makes her feel better. Going slowly helps agains intestinal issues as well.
