Yesterday

Trix seems to be feeling pretty good today, but for some reason her MamaBean is in anxiety helicopter mode. Her appy was definitely just a bit off yesterday (once again, the kind of thing only a helicopter would notice), but it did seem to pick up after a nice poop in the afternoon. But even after it picked up and really was very good and reasonable, it still wasn't what her greedy MamaBean likes to see. Her energy isn't quite as spunky, either...she's not dragging or lethargic, but she's also just not quite as active, either. I suppose it could be the heat, too....

I think her numbers also have me a bit on alert, too. Of course they are very lovely....but historically, there have been times when low numbers like this for Trix mean something is brewing....as we know, she's a bit backwards in that stress and illness tend to cause her numbers to drop and not rise. I am wondering if it's time for another round of ABs for her mouth. It's been a little over a month since her last dose of Zeniquin (I actually thought it was longer than that), and in the last weekish I've seen more minor fluctuations in her appy than she was previously having. So, I'll keep close tabs on things and keep mulling over that idea.

One more work day and then I'm off again. Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Love that AMBG Trixie, woot, so green! :D

You know her so well. I would trust your instincts, and if another round if AB's is needed, then maybe so. Here's to a good appy, and a good mouth Miss Trixie. and a yes on the heat. We have been warmer than usual for some time now, and that has affected appys here all around.

Have a great day today Amy.

Hi Amy, Something the vet told me the other day might help you. She said kitties will sometimes have down days, meaning they won't be as active or eat as much, for not particular reason at all. Tell me, is every day a good day for you, subtracting any kitty stress. Probably not. Which means maybe Trixie just had an off day. I know you say that when Trixie's numbers are lower it usually means something is brewing, but looking at her spreadsheet since January, it seems that her numbers have been slowing coming down for the past 6 months. Maybe she is just finally getting full function of that pancreas again. Hopefully that is what it is.

I know you are absolutely correct, Tina...no one feels up and wonderful all the time, and our kitties are allowed to have off moments just like us! I try to tell myself that all the time. Annoyingly, I have found that the older I'm getting, the worse my anxiety is getting....I hate how overly hypersensitive I have gotten over every little nuance. I really am trying to work on that, because it is starting to have a negative impact on my ability to function. Sometimes I wish I didn't know certain things....information is power, but sometimes too much information paralyzes me! Ugh.

I know what you mean sometimes it hard to stay sane dealing with these kitties. It seems like I'm always watching Toby to see if he is okay. I have to tell myself let him be a cat. I keep saying FD bothers us more than it does our kitties.

What a great start for Trixie! I hope her appy is better. You know your kitty. If she is a little off, you would definitely catch it. Have a great day Amy!

I know the feeling! Once they have been so sick you have to helicopter around the,!

Everyone here is here because we truly care what happens to our babies. It just shows that we are good momma and daddy beans. We probably all worry too much over a change in patterns and number, especially when we know them so well. I worry too, and just telling me not to worry..well easier said than done. So, I would say, if she appears ok, and since her numbers are good, give a little time to see if it she might just be having an off day. Dont worry about worrying..;)..:bighug:

From one helicopter mom to another (and one of many, obviously), I'd say if you think something needs to be watched, it probably does, but I don't think there's any need for prompt action.

I totally agree about the heat. It definitely affects all of my kitties, and me, too!
