Yesterday's update

Mo is doing so well. He's still a bit slow as you would expect but he is eating everything and also drinking. He is drinking quite a bit. Back to filling the litter tray with wees. But that's understandable given his numbers are quite high again. He does insist of only drinking out of a glass though. Whatever floats your boat :cat: We are doing our best to keep the house cool to help with his temperature.

I upped his insulin to 4u this morning but was told I shouldn't have so I will go back down to 3.5u. Without callipers, it's going to be difficult to measure smaller than half units as we don't have syringes with half unit markings. I printed off the PDF where you can cut out the different unit markings but that's still pretty tricky to eyeball, so I will get some callipers this weekend. I'm doing my best

We take him back to the vet in half an hour for a check up and hopefully they will give me his medicines to take home. I will come back with another update afterwards.

Hope you are all doing well :bighug:

Warms my heart to read this update! :bighug: Overall things sound positive. Don’t fret too much over his numbers right now. Let the depot fill back up, then see where he is at.

Dosing with calipers is the best. Once you get used to it, it becomes easy. Do you have the link to Marje’s dosing with calipers page? I’ll add it tomorrow if you don’t and if no one else posts it. I’m in bed on my phone right now. Lol.

I hope all goes well at the vet. Keep us posted. :)

Make a sample with an old syringe using colored water and use it to measure. Can you get digital calipers?
I’m glad he’s home and doing well.

Mo's appointment went well! They loaded him up on antibiotics and pain meds and sent us home with some Cerenia, I believe. His temperature has come down to 39.4. It was 40 yesterday so that's really good. They're pleased with how well he is doing.

You're right, I shouldn't worry about the numbers right now. Patience pants are what I need o_O

I have seen the post about the callipers. I'm looking forward to learning how to use them! Hope Butters is doing well :bighug:

I will definitely look into getting digital callipers. They seem like the easiest to use. Thank you :)

My Ruby LOVES drinking water out of the glass. She sits next to the glass and dips her paw into it and then licks her paw. It's the cutest thing ever!

Very glad your Mo is doing better!

It is very cute! But then Mo has a soaked paw afterwards and we now have a lot of dirty paw prints all over the floor haha! It's pretty cute.

Hope Ruby is doing well :bighug:

I'm at work for another night shift tonight, but my partner just sent me this. MO IS SNUGGLING AGAIN! This makes me so happy :cat:
