With that 31, Toni, I would recommend reducing her by 0.25u. Good job getting her stopped but I would have fed HC at the 31 and rechecked in 30 minutes.......just for future reference. Any time I get a low number like that, I always retest 30 mins after Gracie has finished the food I gave her to bring her up...because sometimes it doesn't work the first time and it takes a few feedings to get the numbers up.
That is exactly what I did. 31- oh Gosh! Feed a big teaspoon of high carb - recheck again in 30 minutes and then the 57 so breathe a bit easier! But as I look at my thread message, It does,t read that way. So sorry for the poor explanation. So I will reduce to 1.05. How to do that even with calipers!
She wasn't even green in any of the 1.3 cycles just bouncing with an occasional high blue. I was considering an increase and then this 31! I wish I understood how this kitty works! KYC you say? I don't. Then the pmps of 333 so she is starting another bounce I guess. Any answers out there?
One observation that might help - when I was wondering when to test next, I would look at the interval between the last 2 test numbers to help me figure out if punkin was dropping fast or not. Cats don't drop at a constant rate per hour, but it can at least give you an idea of what you *might* expect. While that 31 seemed out of the blue, when I look at night before last, Marmy was 280 at pmps and 193 at +3. That's a drop of nearly 100 points in those 3 hours. She seems to have a later nadir at least in some cycles, so I'd be thinking the possibility would exist for her to continue to drop for several more hours, possibly even another 100 points. Now she might NOT have done that, but I'm just saying that she may have been lower in some of those pm cycles earlier.
In any case, sometimes cats aren't predictable and you just go with whatever you see.
Thank you again. Awhile back she stayed in greens and blues for several cycles but now she just seems to get low and bounce! I will have faith. Thank you Julie!
