AMPS 240

I enjoy the sun, but I don't like sunny yellow numbers, Mr Bu! I'm getting a bit concerned with some of these higher numbers he's come up with lately. He was doing so well just a few weeks ago! He appears to be feeling fine and happy. If our numbers don't get back to where they were I guess maybe I should get his teef checked. I'm prolly making a mountain out of a mole hill - always gotta have something to worry about, don't we?

I should remind myself: "sometimes you have to go up to go down" and "maybe he's just being a cat" Oh, and "put on your patience pants"

Hi guys .. oh yes, you are just like me I can tell! Trying to find reasons to stress and worry :-D .. it's probably one of the latter ones so try not to stress ok? have a great day!

I worry myself to pieces over Gobbles, so I know where you're coming from! I think a teeth check up is a really good ideas. Buster's numbers look pretty good! If it was me, I would ask for dosing advice :-D

Those sunny yellows are not Buster's best, that's for sure. I hope he comes down tonight.

We're only on the 4th cycle of this dose. Think I'll give it just a few more cycles to see if he can bring them down. I think he might not feel well, even though he doesn't show it. I can see just a bit of his 3rd eyelid, but I don't remember if that's normal for him. I don't think it is. Would allergies cause that? The pollutants have been high here lately and he does go outside at will. This has been bugging me all day!

Re: 6/11 Buster AMPS 240, +5 280 - allergies??

Allergies are an inflammatory process and could effect Buster's numbers. There are a couple of things people do for allergy. Omega-3 is one option. If Buster is sensitive to fish, I wouldn't use this since it's fish oil.

There are several people here who use Zyrtec. This is from my vet:
Zyrtec dosage is ½ of a 10 mg tablet by mouth (in food…) twice daily, or about every 12 hours, try for 7 days. Watch for drowsiness or restlessness, although side effects from Zyrtec are not likely or are very mild. Use plain Zyrtec, or cetirizine, only—no combo meds.

I think Marje and Ella have been using Allerplex. You might check with Ella -- Rusty has had some allergy issues this year and she can give you the correct info if I botched the name of the product she's using.

Gave him 1/2 tab of 10mg Zyrtec since I had it in the house anyway. I"ll be home to watch for any funky side effects. Fingers, paws and tails crossed he brings the numbers down!

Re: 6/11 Buster PMPS 316 - allergies??

Hi Tara,
Rusty takes Standard Process Allerplex: https://www.standardprocess.com/Sta...brary/Product-Detail-Sheets/allerplex0975.pdf Marje told me about it and we decided to try it for Rusty's chronic bronchial issues. It works! His breathing is so much better (he's been taking it for 96 days). His vet was really impressed with his improvement when he went for a vetty visit yesterday. It is a holistic remedy intended for humans, but many of the testimonials for it are from people with dogs or cats. Rusty's dose is one capsule a day. I open it and mix its contents (powder) into a teaspoon of Beechnut Stage 1 turkey baby food and a teaspoon of water. I finger-feed him this "slurry" as a treat. He loves it! (Allerplex smells like bouillon cubes). You can order it through Amazon or ask your vet to get it for you (in general, Standard Process only sells through health professionals). This product has been around since 1959 and the company since 1929. They use only organic ingredients.

Good luck with getting Buster's allergies under control. The best thing about Allerplex is that it does not contain chemicals. It is all natural extracts, etc. It won't make him drowsy.

Have a fine evening,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Marje's Tobey is also taking Allerplex, and she once had a 15 year old cat with asthma who started to take it, improved greatly, and lived to be 21 years old!!

Re: 6/11 Buster PMPS 316

Thanks for the info Ella! I don't know for sure that it's allergies, but I figure I'd give it a try. It's awfully dry here and lots of junk gets in the air. Phoenix proper can get pretty smoggy, but we don't live that close to the big city. Plus, our backyard is growing like crazy and the grass is seeding, so it seems plausible.
