Hi,

Sorry to use the 911. I just don't know what to do. I'm supposed to be leaving right now to go to my first day at a new job (volunteer but still good for my resume).

I just gave her the rest of her 3rd breakfast. She needs reminding to eat at the moment. Can I give her HC now and go out? She should be at her nadir about now.

Grace

Yesterday's condo is here.

I would give Angie some HC and leave more out.

Is there anyone who could stop by and maybe leave her some LC food in a couple of hours?

Hi Sienne,

Thanks for that. 15 minutes later she has come up quite a bit. Could that be real? Maybe one of the tests were wrong.

I gave her some LC at the last test and held off on the HC so that I could see if she was going up or coming down. I'll give her some HC now.

I can't come back unfortunately (and there is no one else). But now that she's coming up it should be safe, shouldn't it?

Hi Grace,
I think that if you give Angie some of her regular LC food with a drop or two of syrup in it before you leave and also put out some HC for her to eat while you are gone, she will stay safe. She may zoom up, but that would be better than going too low. Is there any food that you could leave out for her that she really likes? (even kibble might be OK in this circumstance). Can you get home during the work day to check on her?

Try not to worry.

p.s. I see that Sienne has already answered you. But now you have 2 answers! Good luck in your new job!

She loves her junky Fancy Feast (in Australia it's in gravy). She ate that very greedily. I've left some out for her as well.

Ok, I'm off then. :( Late on my first day! At least they may not expect so much from volunteers.

I think you may need to invest in a timed feeder or make some catsickles so there's food available.

Catsickles: Mix LC food and water so it's soupy. Then freeze -- i've used ice cube trays -- so you have portions that you can leave out. That way, as the cubes defrost, there's fresh food. (Of course, Gabby defeats the purpose because she likes licking the frozen cubes! Silly cat.)

Hi Sienne,

I have a timed feeder. Angie just isn't eating as well at the moment. She walls over to it, eats a little and goes back to bed.

She's been eating late if I've been sleeping or out because she hasn't bothered to eat what's in her bowl. When I get back or wake up I feed her off a teaspoon what ever she has left. If I'm awake and home I have to keep putting her back next to her bowl to get her to eat on time.

I think it might be the antibiotics because she's been doing this since the second day of antibiotics. She normally polishes the plate.

I hope it's just the antibiotics.

Grace

That made me laugh! At least she's getting it slower!
